Just Aquired one of the Oldest .com Domains

I just aquired the domain name www.scvcs.com which was among the first 167 domain names registered.
What do you think the value of it is and your comments and feedback are appreciated on this one.
possible uses and would you sell or is this somethign to keep as a collectors item?

It seems that when some names drop and are caught they retain the old registration date and some others do not.
anyone know why?

Also if anyone can help me out with a little more Whois history and find the exact date and number it was registered and by whom. I am pretty sure it was between #100 and #167 in late 1987 and was registered by Santa Clara Valley Computer Sciences here in the Silicon valley California.

O, Congratulations buddy. Nice job on the domain. Since it was one of first 200 to be registered, that means a lot to some people. It will be worth a lot of money to some, but to others, around low xx or reg fee. How much $ did you pay to buy it? or did it just run out?

i have found it listed on several sites as being in the top 160. I believe looking at the whois before it dropped and saw Dec 1987. Anyone able to do a whois history?

This is a very interesting thread indeed (and I don't find myself saying that too often ).

Did a quick search and found this http://www.namefaqs.com/question/qstId/25.html which I also noticed was written by 'Ron', commented on by 'Grilla', whois shows NP as being the registrar and the forum links to NP. My 'Columboesque' powers of deduction would therefore lead me to conclude that that's another one of RJ's properties. Correct?

To the OP, a great catch, if for no other reason than the historical significance but I'm sure you'll come up with ways to monetize it.

And OP, if the domain really "dropped" instead of the "partner dropping" that pool.com and snapnames.com usually uses (iow: A partner registrar gives the drop service access to the domain before it "really drops"... So many "s), then the date would be reset. If it's been continuously registered (AKA snap or pool had a relationship with the registrar), then the date will not reset.

Since the registration date on the domain is 2006 I don't think it is worth much, can't imagine why anyone would want it.
