Guys, I want a proper and realistic appraisal here, when I last asked for an appraisal (when JD was small, months ago) they varied between $xx,xxx to $xxx, xxx - Let's be very very specific this time and honest = All constructive and detailed appraisals will be rewarded with $20NP

Website URL: www.juicyduff.com
Established: 9 months
Monthly Rev: High $xxx to Low $x,xxx
Monthly expenditure: Low $xxx
Members: 9,000~
Growth: 50+ a day
Members per month: 1,500-2,000
Unique visitors: 2,500/day
Revenue from: Google adsense and Text links

Here is a link to the new advertising prospectus for JuicyDuff (I've not started implementing the plans as I'm way too busy): Please download, read and review it before posting an appraisal. : Here's the link: http://www.juicyduff.com/advertise.PDF

Here's a link to the older appraisals from members: http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=81395&highlight=juicyduff.com

Edited: NP$ for appraisals no longer given

Low $xxx, xxx is a fair appraisal at the moment, IMHO. The way I see it, you multiple your current profit by 15-18 (months) and you get a pretty fair price on your hands. $100,000 is OK at this moment; it'll be much higher in a year, I'd say $150,000-$175,000.

Yes, I see that the site has a lot of potential, which is why I'd hold on to it to the point where it only gets about 15-20 new members a day; That way you can say that your site has over 100,000 members and gets 20 each day, which is A LOT for a fan site. Therefore, it'll sell for A LOT B-) << just my 2 cents.

P.S.: got 20 np$, thanks.

So a site that makes $1000 a month is worth $100,000???

Last time I checked $1000 * 15-18 is $15,000 - $18,000. I think those numbers are a bit high, but plausible.

If you owned HillaryDuff.com and were selling it for her I could see getting 6 figures, but not juicyduff.com. To me the sexual connotations to the name would make me shudder a bit if my 13 year old daughter was on the site.

Is Hillary Duff really going to become MORE popular in the future? I think she is in her prime...as she grows older people will lose interest. (Think Britneys sites still get as many hits as 3 years ago?)

Anyway, no FLUFF, No CRAP my appraisal for Developed site and domain is:

$15,000 - $18,000.

Well done for the results you achieved.

My only reservation, and this it's a BIG reservation, is that you seem to be publishing a lot of content that is not yours. Correct me if I'm wrong, but do you own or have been granted the right to publish all those images? The domain name is an issue too. Hillary Duff hasn't got the right to the 'Duff' name, of course, but when you have a site dedicated to her then the 'duff' in the domain isn't just any ol' duff, but her.

If you can prove that nothing on your site is liable then it is worth a decent amount. If not it's worth a cease and desist letter from her lawyer.

Impressive! Though I agree that the name leaves a little to be desired for the target age group. When I first saw the name I was half expecting another type of "duff".

The value here, surely comes from the amount of time and effort that went into development and advertising the site. Building a membership base such as the one you currently have is not an easy task.

The only problem with fansites, especially ones with cookie cutter celebs is that they eventually crumble. The teens turn into adults and their interest disappears with their youth. Chances are there will not be another generation of "duff" fanatics... but stranger things have happened. Look at GreenDay.

My max appraisal at this time is $12,000

And that is taking the low end monthy times 2 years.

It may be most profitable to just keep the site until the fad washes out with the tide.

From my knowledge, the last thing a celebrity management wants is bad publicity by sueing fan-sites as sites like JD provide a level of marketing which would cost management millions to acheive ... However, I've got a lawyer working on the issue and we've spoken to Hilary's management, they didn't seem to have any objections.

Also, to be fair to everyone who has posted an appraisal, i'll send $20NP ... let's try to keep everything detailed and please do read everything in my original post including the advertising prospectus... NP$ will be sent soon.

'Juicy Duff' may be perceived as bad publicity, that's part of the problem. In any event, if you have assurances in writing - a letter from her management stating that you may use content and that they will not sue you over the domain name - then it's a valuable proposition.

Thanks for the advice, our lawyer will be working on that :)

High $x,xxx maybe even low $xx,xxx

Great potential, Hilary Duff isn't getting any less popular (besides, she's beautiful ;)), and I can see the potential of the site increasing even higher over the next little while.

I remember seeing this domain discussed on the DP Co-op forums as being an inappropriate one for the Co-op... geeze, DP's members are uh............ well, yeah.
