So I'm only 16 and I'm looking for a job where I can get paid at least $30 an hour :hehe: . Preferably in the computer services field. Is there any possible way to get a job like this at my age? If so, doing what.

BTW, I actually plan on living on that wage as soon as I save up enough to make a deposit on something livable.

Thanks :).

Let me know as soon as you find something, I'm living off of $6/hour, or about $95 per week now, at your age. :)

I made $55 per hour at the age of 12 and $75 at the age of 17 doing web marketing... I'd suggest reading up on SEO, web marketing and anything related

Not everyone actually earns what their skills are worth...but most people get paid by how skilled they are. In other words you need to figure out what you are really great at (better than most people out there) and then you can start asking for what you want to get paid.

My advice is don't focus on how much you can make per hour...focus on doing things little by little that pay you long after you've done them. There is nothing more freeing then making money without having to work. Only trouble is....it takes alot of doing the right types of things (work) for a period of time. Most people have to work to get paid....if they can't work....no pay.

Seeing as youre young....I hope this gives you something to chew on while you 'work' for a living.

Good luck whatever you do....

Oh btw..here are some ideas (realestate, creating a product which you sell to someone for alot of $$, starting a business which ultimately can run without you being there, insurance (one of the best types of residual income...you get the idea...)

THINK BIG....It's not any harder than thinking small

$30 per our is a great goal! If you are planning on working through the Internet, most people who have been doing it a while will tell you that there are ups and downs in the income. It would be my suggestion to get a regular job, just so you have the steady income, while you find that $30 per hour job either online or out in the real world.

The best way to find a good job is to network.. you are already doing that here, but maybe getting a job at a local Coffee place etc in the business district and getting to know some of the people that way might give you a chance at finding something you may otherwise not be able to hear about.

Good jobs usually are obtained by who you know as much as what you know.

Best of luck!! You are a bright and ambitious guy!!

I think serious content writing might get you $30/ hour. Something like writing short stories, poems etc. But it is tough writing quality short story or poem.

I'm not exactly sure, but from all the family I have calling me for computer support, I would say I'm pretty good at computer support.

I used to do webpages for antiquers.. charged from $100 - $800 for work that usually took a couple days at most. Alot want some sort of picture gallery and some way to market their wares and most are fairly computer illiterate.

When I was doing it, I didn't have the advantage of setting up Wordpress.. now, that would be a few minutes work, looks professional and would be easy for an inexperienced client to maintain!

I also used to charge $25 an hour about 6 years ago to help people list their items on eBay.. help them set up an account, show them how to list or do the listings for them. If I did the listings, I charged a flat percentage of 25% (they paid the fees). I used to list post crds for one guy and averaged $150 a week just from listing for him.

IMHO....if you have to ask how you can't do it. I know 14 year olds making $xx,xxx a year so it's not actually age but it can play a factor into experience. While others may say they make $xx an hour...they really don't. When you factor in the hours they spend learning or just getting a client...it severly lowers the rate of pay.

I suggest you get a local job. Get off your computer and into the real world. The pay ain't great but it's steady and better than sitting in the house all dang day. You are too young to be sitting at home.

My suggestions...local department stores, grocers, fast food, basically any stock or clerk job you can find. A real cool job is working in a Movie Theatre..great perks.

I would recommend that as well, that's what I did. I now have a steady income, some of which I save in a bank account, and the rest I'm free to either spend or buy domains and related things with. :)
