I am currently listening to Monte's Domain Masters program and Jeremy is going to be his next guest. I can't help but think that there is going to be some .mobi discussion. Here is the link:

Great interview. I'd call that a confirmation that there are premium mobis in the auction.

Great interview Jeremy!

If I heard Monte correctly at the beginning of the show, 280 names will be going to the live auction. It will be interesting to see how many .mobi's make the cut.

Yes

Dot Mobi looking good..

I like when Jeremy was saying to the effect [don't listen to too much hype that would make you overspend.. don't listen to those people who say Dot Mobi will be nothing.. read between.] er.. something like that hehe

Also.. another great point made, that I agree with, in that the aftermarket is a great investment opportunity.. potentially life transforming (in fact probably the lowest aftermarket prices it is ever gonna be from the present, onwards.. good idea for at least inquiries because many a hungry domainer like me would sell for x,xxx even to buy more)

Happy to hear more about Dot Mobi, time to hit the whois harder and faster for this once and only times as people catch more the "Dot Mobi Bug" through greater publicity on media outlets like WebmasterRadio.FM .

Kind Regards,

Yelo

In a nutshell, Jeremy praised the future of .mobi as he has so eloquently done in the past, and several mTLD premium mobis were announce for the upcoming live auction.

A NP member with a great portfolio of .mobi names. He has experience as a domainer several years ago and jumped in big time on the .mobi landrush and early secondary market.

Thank you for listening!

It's been a long time since I have had the opportunity to speak about domain names.

In 1998-2000, there were interviews - mostly from reporters who looked at domainers as eccentric, abstract... nuts. ;) Why would someone buy a .com domain name for more than the registration cost?

The jury on .mobi's success has just entered the deliberation room. We can expect a verdict in 24-48 months.

The launch was excellent. Textbook.

Now, we're in the very early build awareness phase. This will come with a scattering of websites... here and there... as well as news.

Adoption won't occur until we have far better equipment to surf the net. You can take Treo, Blackjack, Pearl and put them in the blender of transitional technology... along with 8-track tapes and Betamax tapes. Blend, blend, blend, sucker, blend.

Adoption also won't occur until the content is compelling and significant.

In the meantime, the jury is just sitting down at the table. Everytime a new site is launched, or a big domain name is sold to an end user, or a newspaper article is written the jurors will notice.

The verdict will come.

Let's hope for guilty and a life sentence... we want MOBI to be adopted as a lifelong extension.

Here's to 2011.

Which names were announced? Are they listed anywhere online yet?

Here's to 2011 and here's to now :)

Great points. I agree adoption is key in this infancy stage.

One of the challenges I see for adoption, and having great .mobi sites out there, is the availability of applications (like open source) as development aids for our domains' usage. Not many people know how to program for Dot Mobi or how to make a compelling site.. a site where people want to go back again and again.. viral..

+ Blogging - I would encourage people to blog on their Dot Mobis now with Wordpress plugin http://pc.dev.mobi/?q=node/78

+ Mykel has been part of the developing of a social networking site script available for purchase here at NP, thanks.. see http://mpals.mobi

- I am still looking for an advanced compliant mini message board

- I am looking for a Dot Mobi compliant instant chat application..

- I am looking for a video community upload site software/script/template (like a you tube clone, this is HOT!)

- a mini (Dot Mobi compliant) CMS template?

All would help us at large..

We should also gather our sites onto the mobile directories people are putting out and watch closely how Dot Mobi ranks in the precedent setting Google mobile search (seperated from original search) at http://google.com/pda .. for greater traffic and Dot Mobi representation..

Yes, the launch by Dot Mobi and their business consortium has been beyond belief.. thankful.. exciting every day to see what comes next..

Thanks Jeremy for inspiring and thought-provoking time..

Goodluck

Kind Regards,

Yelo
