Japanese auction site

There's a domain that I'm eyeing that is currently listed in a Japanese auction site, http://www.value-domain.com/auction.php?action=buy1. Does anyone here have any experience in dealing with that site? The prices are in yen as well, and I was wondering how I'll be able to bid there, maybe use a third-party site or something?

Or should I be better off emailing the address listed in the whois info instead and making an offer?

If the domain is in an auction with a set end time and no reserve, you probably have no choice but to enter into the auction.

If, however, the "auction site" behaves more like afternic in nature, you would probably be better served by emailing the whois info, and if no reply after a couple of days, try calling.

Thank you for the response. It would be no problem with me if it was an auction site in USD, but it's in Japanese yen, and I have no idea how I'll deal with them.

Japanese Yen have a listed exchange rate and are readily swapped for good old USD Unlike some other funny money like TWD

I would recommend that you ask jp-domains.com if they would be prepared to action your purchase and register the sale on your behalf. They accept paypal, so I guess that if they said yes then you could park the funds with them ie reg fee + max auction bid price.
