For reasons beyond explanation I have followed the estibot valuation of some of my names for some time and noticed that they appear to have gone up quite considerably over the past two weeks.

I know people put little store in estibot valuations, but I thought it was interesting.

I know its not earth shattering .TV news and it is Estibot, but It really is a nice time to be a .TV fan/investor/flipper/developer, etc.

Each and every little bit of positive .Tv News lately adds up to be HUGE in the grand scheme of things.

Thx for the info, It is a good day in .TV land and all of this recent good .TV news has really been incredible lately.

Real sales is what counts, not fluctuations in estibot.

For someone who had such a farcical sale of a forum lately I would have thought you would now know better!

This has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've seen. I assume you did not read the bit where it said 'a little extra happiness'.

It is not the ONLY good news, it is just a LITTLE bit more good news.

The REAL good news, which you have once again been so happy to ignore is that there are over 150 .TV names on SEDO right now, there have been something like 10,000 to 30,000 new .TV names bought in the past two weeks and the market is more buoyant than it has been in its entire existence.

Plus internet TV advertising rates are higher, more people have access to internet TV, and more people are choosing .TV to host their internet TV channels.

I don't mind your REAL arguments Snoop, but that one is just a bit dumb

I heard it on great authority that estibot automatically contacts the purchaser to find out if they have development plans. I think you'll find that those are the ones that have gone up in estimate.

Once the oversupply factors are included I'm sure they will go back down. :imho::gl::music:

In fairness I've been using estibot out of curiousity. It seems to be better with .TV than .com but I think that's primarily based on the range for a typical domain being $0-$5500 vs $0-$14million.

Estibots not perfect but it captures a nice little bit of information in one place for comps. IMHO.

Good news for Sedo ... who will make minimum $50 a piece IF THEY CLOSE ... but, honestly, I'm not seeing a lot of worthwhile (especially in the context of recently heightened expectations) offers on ".TV's" on Sedo at present, IMHO. :red:

Buoyant only in the chatter and forum discussions (and, I guess, expectations by some) ... and registrations which are good for Verisign/Enom and the various registrars; for the vast majority of domainers, though, things back to normal on April 8th! :imho:

It is dumb to suggest fluctations in estibot don't mean anything? Discussion about real sales please. Let's leave the .tv hot air in the prior deacde where it belongs.

About estibot appraisals,

That's great news! and I will cheer that!

I also use the service prior to buying a name, for all those stats it provides. Other wise I have to go different places to find them.

One abnormal thing I have found there is about co.uk appraisals. This could still be out of track on .tv forum, but I would still like to mention. Co.uk appraisals are high there.

One thing I would like to mention, none of the appraisals would matter much in assuring the sales or increasing the number of sales. It's a guideline for both buyers and sellers.

It will appraise junk names for mid $x,xxx and really good names like yours for less than $xxx.

I think estibot is good for search numbers estimates but not good or accurate for dollar values.

Thanks Ipodexpert. You are right, most of my names are now appraised by Estibot under $xxx and I could agree for many but I don't buy their appraisals for some strong keywords such as Videos. I don't mind as I doubt that end-users are aware or use this service.
