I keep hearing about this D.R.T. software to manage domains and use for finding valuable domains to buy, but nobody I hear about it from has actually used it, they just see the ads and the site. Anyone have any experience with this program? Feedback greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to the site for the program:

If you're using this program, please let me know if you're happy with it and what you use it most for.

thx

It do work well but since it queries Google, Yahoo, etc. for some of its data you'll need a good proxy or your IP will be banned quick.

They offer paid proxies but I'm not too impressed.

Good tool, terrible proxies, low speed results (even if you are on t1) but if you have patience like I do its a winner :imho:

What are your experiences if i may ask and others as well in regards to the amount of proxies necessary to make the best use of DRT?

If I have a dynamic IP assigned, i.e., using SBC DSL, do I still have the problem of being banned?

Yes.

You need to change IP addresses with a regular interval while continuously being connected to the Internet.
A dynamic IP will change upon connection to the Internet - you would need to constantly reconnect to the Internet to have your IP changed so you don't have a constant live connection which is required to work with DRT.

Does the "deep scanning" tool work? seems like its really cool . . . the Alexa, PR DMOZ stuff is everywhere but if they have an ability to FIND and COME UP with domain names/ideas for me, it would be a total winner.

You don't have to worry about your IP getting banned if you let someone else do the work. www.ExpiredWatch.com publishes incoming links and pagerank for thousands of expiring names everyday.

DRT is ok, but i wouldn't call it the "holy grail" by any means and there's plenty of free resources on the net that you can do the equivalent with.

The filter tool is the most handy, blocking out the chars and - to leave the letter stuff and also being able to define results to the required number of letters.

At $250 bucks it's expensive. Honestly i'd sell mine if i could.. or go back in time.

I am using this software for past one month. As others says its slow it takes atleast 4 hours to check all available domains. I use it to get the list of Expired domain available for registration with valid google PR's.

I am new to domaining so I write a bot to find me availble domains, still has some work and I have just cracked finding backlinks without getting banned. I publish the results (some 30,000 so far) on http://www.evis.net, The site is broken up so I can try and build ad rev. but if it is useful I can make a simple rss feed available just let me know.

I focus on short names 4 - 9 chars

guys, to actually catch a expiring domain you need to use a drop catcher like pool or snapname .. . if its any good, you will not find it paying 6.99 on Godaddy . . .
