Hi, I received this unsolicited email this morning. It smells of BS, but I've replied to similar emails before and ended up with a sale. Curious if any other members have received a similar message and whether it was legit. Email details below. Thanks!

Hello!

I'm a personal broker of an investor from Manchester (United Kingdom) who wants to purchase your xxxxxx.com.

My client has $409 000 budget for multiple domain names. Please specify your asking price in the subject of your message.

Our company is in hosting business. We also provide brokerage service for VIP clients and investors who invest in domains.

I work with many domain investors from all over the world. If you have other domains for sale please email them to me. My clients will make offers on your best domains.

Please let me know how we can pay you: ACH/Wire, Check, Escrow or Paypal. If this is your first time domain sale I may help you with the sale/transfer process.

I look forward to doing business with you.

Best regards,

Xxxxxx Xxxxxx

I've had one too.
It's a fairly standard appraisal scam.

This is one of those to good to be true mails with several warning sings. First off it's not very professional written and I highly doubt a serious buyer would be so open about the budget, not a good tactic for negotiations down the road :) This mail is a pure temptation trap for domainers :)

Appraisal scam. No buyer would disclose their budget - that itself is fishy. Have got many of these, just ignore.
