Is This a legit Email from Moniker??

I received this in my email today.
I've received many things from them,
but nothing with a masked link to a domain
that's not owned by moniker??

Anyone else get this, or can verify it is legit?

As a Moniker Registrar customer, your feedback is extremely important to us, which is
why we'd like to invite you to participate in a 10-15 minute online survey.

Your account was set-up by either:
-Registering or transferring domains to Moniker
-Purchasing domains through the Moniker or SnapNames aftermarkets

To access the survey, click on the following link or copy and paste the address
into your Web browser --- you will be taken to our survey vendor SurveyMonkey:

http:/ /www. surveymonkey. com/s.aspx?sm=2qyjOBNl9dbYOhZVgOdnfg_3d_3d

In appreciation of your time, you can optionally be entered in a drawing for a
$100 Moniker account credit. The deadline to reply is January 16th.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

The link when mouseovered (in the email)
goes to that up0 .net address with a bunch of crap after it.
It doesn't go to surveymonkey.

Can anyone else verify that this is actually Moniker?
The domain is registered to someone else and not Moniker.

Thanks for any help!

I took the survey. Not sure if it's really moniker or not. If it's not, they should have a survey like that, because I could name a handful of improvements they should implement. I don't think they can do anything with your User Id, unless they know your password.

How long ago did you do it?

My concern was the masked link to surveymonkey and the
reply email. It doesn't look like anything I've ever gotten.
And other than the "Page" design with the moniker logo on it,
nothing else says Moniker.
It also went to my "Junk" folder which my Moniker emails don't.

I got is as well. I do believe it's legit. The up0.net is an email marketing company & it would not surprise me if survey monkey used them to send out the enormous contact list to moniker customers. With all that said I have not clicked the link.

Thanks for the update and good to know it's theirs.
I emailed Moniker when I started this thread,
and they still haven't gotten back to me :(

Pffft ... I'm not surprised. I took the survey specifically to slam them for their poor customer service ... I've sent several emails to Moniker that went unanswered.

I've heard of surveymonkey as well, I've used them :)
and it looked like it was going to surveymonkey, but
when you moused over it was directed to another domain.
Which is why I was concerned. I didn't know they were farming
out our email addresses as well - which is a whole other thread

I got that survey too but i didnt look at it. I once got a survey from a company and then magically the rates they charged me went up about a week later. From then on i dont fill out surverys no matter how anonymous they claim them to be or the prize

It is very sad...
Especially when it's "supposedly" from a name you trust!

Really was a bad job they did putting the survey together imho. I honestly thought it was a scam -- the email isn't in the best of English, the link doesn't lead to where it says it leads, it said the sender was Moniker but it isn't a Moniker email address associated with it...

For a registrar that prides itself on security, I'm pretty amazed they're sending such an ill-thought out survey and are helping reinforce the notion that it's okay to click links which don't lead where they say they lead and aren't from who they say they're from :|

For your security to avoid ending up as a victim, try to check them on Scam Search for you to find out if these things are legitimate.
