It appears to me that premium .com domain names are selling at lower prices since I first got into domain names.

What are your feelings on current values to be had? Are these short lived due in part to our slow recession recovery? Or are the prices to continue to go lower? Is now the time to pick up premium .coms at discount and hold them?

It becomes obvious that the sentiment from the community is that .com will maintain its role as leader. Do you see anything in the short term replacing it?

What role does a flooded market full of .co, .cc, .ws ,etc. that are being dumped and deleted from accounts play on this? As much as I want to acquire these keywords, as members have suggested countless times, these extensions continue to sell at deep discounts from what one paid, often not being renewed.

Just thought I would get some dialogue going. Thinking about saving some of my money up to buy one or two nice .com, .net, .org and want to time it properly so I don't get burned.

In my view, it is the reseller market that has crashed. The end users are still there, and there is a market for quality domains. If you need to sell at short notice, then your buyers are domainers and they will not pay top dollars. If you can afford to hold and wait for the right offer, I don't see a problem.
Yes, it is a good time to be a buyer.
