hi!

Want to open elevator company. Want to use PENTUM as a company name. What do you think? Is this name suitable for elevator company?

The name is not good in my opinion because it can be easily confused with PENTIUM, and may cause you headache related to typos in the domain name or email address, which will result in losing some of your traffic and missing some emails from your customers.

Try to find a more unique brand name.

No name will be perfect. Pentum is as good as any. Just make sure it is not already used by a company in the same industry already - that would include any products/equipment used to elevate people or objects, like a scissor lifts used in various industries like construction and industrial cleaning, even cranes.

However, realize that the .com is already taken, but is for sale, so you will have to pay more than reg fee for you company name. As such, I would personally look for a different name. There are plenty of good names you could come up with if you use some imagination.

I already thought of one that I think it decent, but I won't post it here in case some dilly-whacker steals it. DM if interested.

thats no good advice

there are huge differences in names
and the companies name has to be chosen wisely

think of esso which means broken car in japanese
(or something like that)

domaining is all about finding the right name

If you look at names of heavy, industrial equipment, most of them are not striking names at all yet they are successful.

do agree that short, striking, memorable name is best. But apparently it's not necessary to success in this type of business. B2B industrial isn't marketed in the same way B2C is. the same rules do not apply.

Besides, I could be wrong, but he's not asking about a domain name, just the name. Not sure he owns Pentum.com or else why would it have a for sale landing page? But I could be wrong.

Or maybe he owns Pentum in another TLD or a ccTLD. Hard to say.

OP will have to clarify this.

I really like Pentum as a company name, it's universal and easy to remember, sounds good even for elevator company.
But if it's too pricey I believe there are great alternatives on the market that will ''click" better for elevators if you want some meaning in the name.
