does .info have any special treatment when it comes to having trademark in the name?

Such as .info is a TLD about small informational sites about very narrow subjects or possibly other sites?

So if one would want create a site about <company> discounts, they could call it <company>discounts.info without expecting any troubles? Because of this "informational" not "official" .info designation (and how it is treated by search engines)?

Does .info gives this freedom of creating domain about anything (including trademarks) or is it just in my mind?

TM infringement is complicated as the finer points depend on a number of factors including which jurisdiction you are in, how distinctive the mark is, how famous the mark is, where the mark is to be enforced e.g. URDP / court etc, how you build the site and what you do with the site once it is built.

A good starting point is to always ask yourself is

Could an uniformed person landing on the site believe the site belonged to the trademark owner?
And is the site using the Trademark's owner famousness to generate revenue?

If the answer to either of those questions is yes then the only safe way is to ask the trademark owner if he is happy for you to use the domain in the way you are planning.

.info doesn't confer any third party rights

.info is essentially handled in the same way as other gTLDs ofr most searches Though there is an advantage if some people are searching for "subject info" or "subject information"
