Few months back when I searched for 3d and 4d related domains, then I came across estibot.com(I was new in domain selling and buying) when I entered 3d.com in estibot.com it was showing $0.00 ,but 3d.com sold for $500,000.(now they fixed this issue)........even I sold my domain BlueLinkSeo.com(I bought it at godaddy closeouts for $3) at flippa.com for $200 is still showing $0........so really estibot value matters????

There have been many similar questions regarding estibot and the answer still remains the same. You really cannot put your 100% trust in it. You can use it as a guide but just like you saw in the values of those domains that turn out great just because estibot says one thing does not make it final.

I suggested this many times but simply looking at similar domain sales in NameBio.com is a good habit to get into before finalizing any purchase of a domain. All these tools are there to help you as opinions and guides but the final decision in the end is yours to pull the trigger.

Not at all.

You have a better chance of hitting the lottery than you do of getting an accurate estibot appraisal.

estibot is not taken seriously by veteran domainers and end-users who do any kind of research. Their values are always way off of reality.

They are used as a guide by some people when they are dealing with buyers who think estibot is actually accurate.

If you can find a buyer who is gonna pay you based on an estibot valuation then they really haven't done much research. Sometimes though this might actually get you more money for a domain than it is worth because estibot gives a very high price and they think they are getting a good deal.

Estibot appraisals are like Chinese fortune cookies. It's nice if they tell me something good, it's meaningless if it's not good. Either way, it has no impact at all on my feelings for a domain. Not even as a rough guide.

But the cookie tastes OK, and Estibot provides a quick way to check other metrics on a domain that are useful (such as searches, other TLDs etc.)

There is already an active Estibot-bashing thread here. This one is overkill.

The other thread really is bashing. I don't think Estibot is bad at all. People simply misuse it

When you have no idea of a potential value of a domain, and need some form of benchmark, then sites like estibot/valuate and domainindex are as good a place to start as any as at least their valuations are based on a form of logic. Whether that logic is similar recent sales. a valuation based on CPC costs and search volume or some other completely unrelated factor, as long as they haven't screwed up determining the words contained in the domain, the process behind their valuations should at least be consistent when applied to and compared with other similar domains valuations. It won't be an accurate valuation of course but how could it be? An accurate valuation will not be known until the domain actually sells, and even then how accurate it is will be affected by how skilled or motivated both the salesman and the buyer were.

A seller using an estibot valuation to support their sales price doesn't necessarily believe that is the definitive value, but does know that buyers often need some form of independent justification of the price quoted to reassure them that they are not over paying and in that regard, these sites do help, even though they often differ wildly in their valuations.

A case in point being a 11+ years old domain I just "valued" recently and have for sale on Flippa (cctvsex.com). Estibot values it at $430, but domaindex values it at over $7,000. One of them may be right, but most likely both of them will look like they were wrong even if they were right because I have set a reserve way below those figures and chosen to sell it on Flippa at a time when that platform is starting to look overly saturated.

Bottom line, even if the domain sells for less, it doesn't necessarily mean that these valuations were wrong.

Hello,

If you like and beleive in Estibot, I would like to offer all my LLLL.coms for only 20% of the appraisal. It's your lucky day!

Seriously, I use it as an indicator. It gives me some hints about search volumes and I often use it before I start analyzing the keyword(s) in Google AdWords etc.

I like to keep it simple. If a valuation doesn't come close to what a domain actually sells for, then the valuation is simply wrong.
That said, even if you had a dozen successful domainers at your service, their appraisals of all but the most obvious names can be all over the map. And those are the best appraisals you'll ever get. Everybody sees something different in a name.
If you use aporaisal value to parse a huge list, that's one thing. But I parse lists according to all kinds of metrics, including some that seem very counter-intuitive. You never know when a weird metric might bring an overlooked domain to your attention.
