Any tips on how to sort through them? Overwhelm is a great pick up. :)

Well, quite a few of the names that are for sale, are not listed yet on Afternic. Just be patient and keep watching.

Also - keep an eye on Blog.Namebio.com - I will have a list of premium names for sale from Afternic once I get finalized pricing.

well I have looked 5000 names so far a lot of junk

Well I have looked 5000 names so far a lot of junk. There was one of two that if it was a drop i might consider registering but $500- NO WAY.

I am laughing as i read through the listings. "piggylyrics.com" is still available.

At least they are getting lots of publicity for there sale.

Sorry about the april 1st joke. Was playing around.

Hoping some other big holders start selling some names. NAMedia has the domain I'd want.

I just regged a domain I let drop back in 2003, and the owner that took it let it drop this year. When I checked the whois data it turned out to be iReit

Oh, and the name was BMXSucks.com BTW

even if they were clearing out the "junk"- why would they be letting go of these better names then? is it that they are not performing? why would they not hold the LLL.coms?
i can see ditching non-performing junk, but why the better ones?

i cant tell with all the dang april fools jokes- did english.com really go for 500.00? i can see overwhelm at that price point but english?

How long did you have to wait for a confirm from ireit?

Hi marcoppp -- welcome to NamePros! :)

The seller (iReit) confirmed the "offer" (I used buy it now, as did Spade, I believe) within a few hours for me. I bought around 10:00 AM, and by 2:00 it was confirmed. :tu:

I'm not sure how long the actual transfer takes.

Purchased on Friday - Got the domain Tuesday Afternoon. (Confirmation on Mon).

Additional Update: I was informed by Afternic/BuyDomains today that many domains that were initially going to be put for sale are being held and will be released slowly.

There are a few cc.net's that are listed, but with asking prices of 100k each.

Would they let you know that your bid was too low or would ireit just not reply at all even when the bid was higher than the minimum?
Agree, lot of crap on the list

I believe they would be willing to Negotiate - however starting a CC.net at 100k is a bit over the top.

As of this moment, they are not "listed" they wont tell me when either. I think we just need to keep our ears to the ground on this one.

What is interesting to me is the "look behind the curtain" at what these Big Investors have been buying - and it appears that their highly promoted collection is a few good short domains and a big load of cr@p.

You can still sell hot air on Wall Street, it seems.

Yet another vote of confidence in short domains, in my opinion. It appears that IREIT's buyers did not know what they were doing. If they stuck to short domains they would have done much better.
