I picked up two very good names from this liquidation last week. :) This is no joke.

OK. I checked the first 1000 on that list. They're all domains I'd pass if they were in a TDNAM Firesale.

Yup, most of the names are Junk. But I am aware of several CC.net and CC.org's that will be posted soon as well as many LLL.net and LLL.com.

Theres some good stuff, I promise.

Wow, just received an acceptance email from ireit for my $500 offer for english.com yesterday. Anyone put a price on that name for me?
Congrats, Rob!

You might as well go ahead and retire!

I don't see any big deal about this whole thing. One company dumbs its unwanted, low value domains. There is no reason to panic, IMO.

Routine? Maybe. English.com, Overwhelm.com, and others unwanted? I think not. ;) I don't know how I'd explain them dumping them, though...

There were scores of great LLL .org I could have picked up, but they were sold within the hour they appeared on Friday, it seems.

You better keep that email and forward it immediately to your lawyer and have him draw up a response to them saying it was a mistake... Have it ready so the moment you get the 2nd notice saying oops... you can blast them! :bingo:

by the way thanks for an interesting thread spade rep adding rep as I shuld have done long ago! :great:

Well, there are several issues. What (in my opinion) it shows is that the current Monetization strategy either is failing or these larger parking companies are bracing themselves for an expected further slump in parking revenue.

I think they they want to be leaner, and anything not carrying its own weight is certainly getting dumped. The problem is when you decide to get rid of 100k + domains, you need to accurately price the good ones.

I am not happy with any current monetization pages out there. I dont know about anyone else here, but I dont make squat parking so I dont even try to optimize my names or anything. It comes as no suprise to me that they want to cut the fat. If a name is not paying for itself and has not had enough inquiries by a certain time, liquidate. Payouts for parking are at a low and clicks get harder and harder to come by as the average internet user gets smarter and smarter. Imodo looks nice if you arent in America but if you are in the US... I suspect alot of Parking companies are being hit by alot of major domain holders pulling out and creating their own platforms as 100% revenue share and ability to negotiate the best deals for yourself may be the only way to keep your monetization up. I know of at least one major domainer (sold domains for multimillions) that pulled their names from other parking programs and is creating their own new platform. This seems to be happening all over the place. Parking must grow along with the consumer, companies that park 100k domains are going to be the most affected by this as the lesser quality domains slowly cost more and more to hold while the traffic slows and income dwindles. The only thing that could make them more profitable would be development or web 2.0 parking like the imodo premium templates. When you cant develop and dont have a profitable parking system time to sell!

Dont forget that this year, were getting a 7% increase in .com and .net registration costs... X that by 100k+ domains and your in deep water.

If they pull that, you pull out their own agreement from their site:
