.mobi iPhone announcement...How will affect .mobi???

It looks like Apple will capture the market with the 'must have' mobile device for the iPod lovers.

Is this good or bad for .mobi??

I hope it's good but it doesn't look like it will have any effect on the extension.

no effect, unless they adopt itunes.mobi as the preferred mobile site for downloading music onto your iphone. You listening .mobi guys?

obviously no affect on .mobi, but the amount of interest in mobile phones lately is astounding!

Although the screen size looks rather big for a phone you're probably right. I can't imagine how amazing a fully designed MOBI site would look on that phone!

They show the iPhone as a full web browser displaying .com pages beautifully. I'm not gonna lie, if the phone becomes popular that's the end of .MOBI. I wish I could see the screen up close. Maybe the font is just really tiny which then makes MOBI our friends again.

Here's something to be relieved about. This is from the Apple Store just posted.

"With its advanced Safari browser, iPhone lets you see any web page the way it was designed to be seen, then easily zoom in by simply tapping on the multi-touch display with your finger"

How come we have to zoom in? That's annoying. I want to be presented with a website in full that I can read. Not get a glimpse of it and zoom in to see what I'm looking at.

Thus, MOBI is back on top

I've seen the zoom thing used in some other mobile browsers, its ok, but a pain in the arse. Its even worse if you're not on a fast network.

I've personally never visited a .com with a phone that has a zoom in browser. But I really hope it's a pain in the ass. I saw that screenshot before and it's decieving. It looks like you can see the full page but it's probably hard to see while actually holding the phone in your hand.
