Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

yes but he has already back ordered every valuable domain in his list ,I checked most of the good ones for the next 10 days , you can find very few that has'nt BOed yet ,

but names like wireless.io which is in his auction now IMO you can't beat him with those very valuable names ,
so that's why I'm asking : is there any another source(other than park.io) for drop list .io domains ??

He was beat for wireless.io and gets beat on many more.

In order to get ahead you need to put the time in. It seems like you and Shane want Mike to provide you first dibs at premium domains. It doesn't work that way at Park or any other service.

I don't use park.io.

Not because it's a ripoff, which it is, but because I refuse to give HIM my money.

I don't use it because there's no need. Has nothing to do with money or individuals.

I saw Wireless.io in park.io list , checked it and it was already BOed , then I saw it at the auction , so i thought he owned the domain

so there's no one provides the .io drop list ?
to sum up : you gotta "random search" for domains you like the are in Redemption Grace Period and BO them from nic.io ? is that right ?

The funny part is I found an epic name expiring that wasn't even on his list. Decided to back order it with NIC because contacting the owner would result in a renewal. Normally that'd be ok but the owner is in the tech field and has worked with some of the top companies in the US.

Side note, the NIC system is shady.

I haven't used it yet , but the "don't pay till you got the domain" is something good for a begginer like me ,
nic.io will not refund u if the owner renew the domain

It's a gamble. I hate it but even if I back order 10 domains and only get one it's generally worth it if you're only ordering the best.

It's just a matter of searching and being first. The no refund policy sucks but it is what it is.

Fantastic. Mike is successful because he hoards domains he catches with his platform. Imagine if NameJet did didn't even let the good names hit auction. People would riot. Instead -- people like you -- commend him and give him credit for his insight. Backwards AF.

Forget Mike for a second, I went out and found available, good .IO domains, registered and sold them. I've sold several for $400-$700,not a bad return on investment for the $32 each,or course,I regged some I regret as well, but have a better feel for the good names that I reg now. My point is, Mike doesn't own,or have tied up,every good .IO domain ever created, there are others to be had

My only point is that believing a hype man about a market that he directly profits from is silly. I'm not saying it's a bad market in any way.

Received a $350 offer through GD Domain Buy service on a one word .io.. I only own 2 .io's.

The keyword is not popular but is good for a tech related site, not sure how much should I counter with.

I don't see anything wrong or silly in what Mike is doing of his BO platform. he is an intelligent person and is making money and that is all i see. Nobody is forced to use his platform to buy or BO domain names. But anyone who could, should, if Mike has already BO the domain you desire.
He got a good idea and brilliant strategy and is making money out of it. It is working pretty good for him. I prefer appreciating and enjoying other's success than to criticize them.
Just because they got the idea before you doesn't mean they are silly. What count is are they moving forward toward their goals? I believe mike is; but I prefer minding my own business except to encourage a brilliant idea or fight a rip-off. Mike is not a rip-off from what i see.

As long as the .io startups raise millions in funding I think the TLD will do well and Mike just found a better way to profit from it, we all do it at some level but where do you draw the line?
