Hello everyone. I am a university student and new to this domain flipping business but have found it quite interesting. I want to ask you guys that whether it is wise to invest in these domain names as a side hustle or not. Being a student, I teach tuitions on the side to cover my expenses. I have started investing in these domain names and currently hold 4 to my name:

techtified.com
cleats4u.com
clantoclash.com
movifile.com

Is it wise to continue down this path or should I save up for something else. Any type of guidance is appreciated.

Invest in crypto. Bull market has started.

Domaining is hard, long process and not a get rich quick scheme.

As a Teacher I will tell you to stop register crap names and spend the time to learn before buying anything.
The domain business is a complex business and not a get rich quick business.

Read for couple of months before spending any more money. Study what sells (NameBio & here on the forums)

I would avoid hand-registering names to begin with and focus on drops and auctions.

Save up a couple hundred and snatch a good 2-word .com or single word non-com.

You want domains like these:

Techify.com
Cleats.co
MovieFile.com

Domains where there is no question as to their value. You are going to spend more, but it's better than having dozens of worthless domains and paying yearly renewals.

A little tip since you're new... Register 2-word .coms with at least 5-10+ extensions registered. With any non-.com, I would avoid anything less than 50 extensions registered, ideally 100+. This will save you a lot of hassle, because if they are registered in more than one extension, there's a better chance it's good.

Also, I would avoid plurals, hyphens, misspellings, numbers, etc. while starting out.

Good luck!

I really appreciate the advice! One month in and I already realized that it is better to be patient and wait for a good domain name with backlinks and keywords rather than throwing money around. One genuine advice needed: are any of my domains worth something? I am holding out for 2 of them; cleats4u.com ( as I have seen similar domain names being sold for $1000 to $2500 range) and techtified.com which is a mix of two keywords tech and certified and have given a market value of $1000 - $4000 in most of the domain appraisals. Which also brings me to the question, should I be using domain appraisal tools?

It's been a long-term job, and I was involved for 10 years before I started selling my first domain name. Good luck!

Hi, I think this is an interesting and promising option, but it requires careful planning. Domain name investment has a high return potential. If you can pick domain names that are scarce, memorable, or related to popular industries, they may increase in value in the future. At the same time, the domain name market is volatile, and changes in demand may cause domain name values to drop.

Buying and selling domain names can be a cool way for a student to make some extra money. You already on the right path with a name like movifile - it sounds like it could work well.Just be careful with names like clantoclash because they might get you into legal trouble.Start small, learn how everything works, and dont rush,If you enjoy it and stick with it,it can teach you a lot and maybe even make you some cash
