The kind of people that are intolerant of another kind of person, for any reason. They irritate me about as much as the kind of people that cry "racism" every chance they get.

I just got a response via PM in this forum from a member (won't mention any names) denying a service to me because of his "beliefs." My homepage, the site in question, is just that - a homepage. It's a site I made for several things, including hosting a 'trade page' (another forum I frequent is a trading card site), information I want to host online, maybe a future blog of some sort, and also as a place for me to code random things in to help me learn. Apparently because of the style of my banner and the name of another one of my sites (which is actually for my girlfriend - a site that will be meant for herbalism and naturalism, having nothing to do with beliefs), he said my sites were too aimed toward fantasy and therefore conflicts with his beliefs.

So, in other words, he won't even consider doing anything for me because of my interests? That's about as ridiculous as it gets, in my opinion.

I'm sure everyone runs into it. Intolerance is everywhere, so tell about your experiences.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Yes, I hate people like that. Once someone asked me to be a moderator on their new forum, then banned me a few weeks later for not being a Christian, despite the forum not being religious at all.

Just move on if they reject your work to another who's interested.

I'm not intolerant of his beliefs, just simply his intolerance.

I may not agree with their beliefs, but I generally applaud anyone willing to stand up for them. I guess there's a difference tho in standing up for your beliefs and discriminating against those others who do not.

I may not want proselytizers dropping by, but admire them for their dedication to their faith.

It's a fine line I suppose... I wouldn't expect a person of Christian belief to work on a porn site, for example.
