was wondering where the thread went....lol...was in general discussion, guess moderator didnt like it in there and got moved...
you did a great job on interview, i always reading about elliot...
i dont know how he operates but the things i have read on him he isnt like a few of the top domainers, i drive this car that car...he is more humble unless he acts differently around his close contacts.... like how he didnt comment exactly how much money he made, others would jump in and boost there ego in how much they make..
Thank you for the compliments and thank you to Chef Patrick for the interview

I pretty much operate in person the way I operate on my blog. I love what I do, I make a decent living, I have a supportive wife, close family, and good friends, so I am pretty happy go lucky about things. The advantage of a blog is that when I am frustrated or upset about something, I can wait until it passes before posting. There's too much bad stuff going on in the world to be bothered by trivial things, so why waste the energy? Usually my frustration stems from watching my puppy (1 year old Puggle) all day at home... but that's another story.
I also love what I can do because I make my own hours and work when I can. At the moment, I am writing from my father's retail store. I took the day off and came up here to spend the day with him. More chatting than working, but what do you expect... lol
I think Scott would make a great interview (I interviewed Sahar a while ago, so I know he has some good things going on), but I didn't get a chance to interview Scott. I think he has one of the best generic portfolios out there and it's neat to hear about how he learned about domains and became an active domain investor.
Thanks again

Hi
I enjoy reading elliotsblog very much and learned a lot the past few months. Admire him in how he is developing things, got into the domain pretty late in the game.
Can't wait see what Elliot does in 09 for his geo names and continue buildout on mini sites!
Congrats Elliot in doing a great job and giving your readers helpful tips.
Dnkitchen did a great job as well and thanks in doing interview.

2009 is going to be an interesting year. Typically I make the bulk of my revenue from domain sales, but I think that has slowed. It's getting riskier to buy a $10k name with the hopes of selling for $15k. It's smart to be liquid (IMO) but it's tough to be liquid if you are buying expensive domain names!
I think this year is going to pose the greatest challenge for me because I am going to have to convince advertisers to spend money on my sites when they, too are being conservative with their expenditures.
My geodomains are making some money with hotel and attraction commission revenues, but it's not enough to pay all the bills. I think there are plenty of ways to monetize my geodomains (Yellow Pages for example), but I am going to have to start soliciting advertising dollars from local businesses, which I haven't done... yet. This will start very soon, and I will be happy to provide an update - good or bad.
