It's called diminishing returns. If you see an ad for the first time it is interesting to you, no? If you see it a few times you feel comfortable with you and might possibly click it. But if you see an add 230,000 times a day, you get annoyed by it and immediately run the other way.

With every person and their brother parking their domains, what else can you expect?

People see, get annoying and run the other way. People need to look for creative alternatives to parking. There are a few of these in the adult industry but sadly not so many in mainstream.

this might explain a decrease in ctr, but not cpc.
