Its a marketing ploy Micro, bottom line the names you see that are $100 were regular pricing they are all domains that expired a domain like zookeeper.tv was a regular non premium reg it dropped Demand Media marked up to $100 so they make a profit from the Verisign price of non premium to the $100 premium. Some names have been marked lower like Business which was $1,000,000 a year and now is $500,000 oh boy save that $500,000 for a domain no one will pay full price for anyway. Demand Media has done very little for the Premium market IMO.
Its like this sale that Jason contacted me about then said oh you have to register for 2 years and then get 50 % off renewal pricing. DUDE that is no bargain make it something off the initial and the renewal then there is a bargain. IMO give 25 % off initial pricing min 2 years registration and 50 % off renewals that is a deal. SO I can reg a LL.tv that was $1000 for $750 for two years and then $500 renewal. OK that is worthwhile IMO but to pay regular for 2 years I have no idea where pricing will be in 2 years and think about anyone who regged premiums the first 8 months of 2006 they got slapped in the face when the big discount during the GOLDEN AGE OF .TV IN SEPT THRU DEC 06. Example LL buyer in Aug 06 bought a LL for $1000, next LL buyer regged one in SEPT for $300 70 % off and then 50 % off renewals. The buyer in AUGUST of 06 imo got a major slap in the face could have got 3 LL .tv for $900 and had $500 renewals with $100 left over instead of 1 LL.tv for $1000 with $1000 renewal. SO Demand Media needs a better deal IMO to reg more premium domains just for the sake of regging a premium if you need it for your business then you need it and 50 % off renewal is better than nothing off. Again IMO
