hey,

I am very interested in getting a laptop, but i would want it with a ontel duo core processor. I know that macbooks have them, but i have not seen any other laptops with these processors. I am looking for a site that sells these (if there are any), that are in canada.

Thanks
Mike

Good luck finding one tho.

Hey Mike,

This Dell XPS M1210 is the laptop I bought around a month ago. (I live in Australia, that link is to the Canadian site)

One of the best laptops out there at the moment for Intel Core Duo, although some configurations can get a bit expensive. I've had minimal problems, and certainly recommend it :)

thanks, i checked out the dell laptop you gave a link to. It looks like it would be quite a powerfull laptop, but i heard dell was the worst support in the world.

For an Australian, the support has been top-notch. Within 24 hour replies, in proper English, and very helpful. Very unfortunate that the company has this image, must be in America? Who knows. But I'm a happy customer :tu:

I'll apologize up front if this is too obvious of a statement:

The mac intel core duo is the only core duo processor chip that will run windows and mac os. They are absolutely great rigs. I am a mac fan that can use windows when I need to. It's 100% very handy to have access to both op systems.

Anyhow, good luck with your purchase.

Dell's customer service leaves a lot to be desired; however, I've found Toshiba' customer support is even worse. i have friends with Macs and their experience with customer support hasn't been any better than I've had with PCs. Overall, buy a comp with the understanding that you'll have to troubleshoot things yourself rather than relying on the manufacturer.

I recently bought an Acer Aspire 5633WLMi. It has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5500. :)

My last laptop was an Acer Travelmate and it lasted me for 5 years. Probably the best comp I've ever had... Check out the Acer Ferrari laptop, I've heard good things about it.

Great point. In general, I personally have had good service from apple...but I also haven't had many problems with my rigs.

The point still stands...buy your cpu for the cpu and what it offers....customer service really is a second line of defense if you have problems.
