.info .info Vs. .Net

Depends on the proposed use.

I like .info for sites providing information.

IMO this would have been bad to do this on a .net.

.net is a short domain and its means network and .info is kind of long and it means information.

Depends on what is your site based on, if it based on News, Information, Tutorial Info, then better to chose the .info site; If yur site is based on free domains, cool stuff, jokes, you better to use .net host. I prefer .net, because it is really popular, as well as the name .net is shorter by one letter than .info, which is 4 letters (4 letters is not the best way to represent your website, I think it's too big), which mostly people do not prefer.

Random comment , Ruan ,Why would having 4 letters in tld make a big difference for typeins. If people can type in 10+ letters for the domain ,1 extra letter is not going to make much difference. By your reasoning , .cc is better than .net or indeed .com

To me the .com is the King and the .net is the Queen of the industry in most situations...I only consider .info better if it exactly fits the keyword (ie some geographical locations) and I would consider .org before the .net if the site is for an organization.

I'd have to say in general terms that the net is preferable. Greatly depends on the name, and how its to be used.

I think whoever lobbied ICANN for .info should have maybe lobbied for .inf instead. 4 letters for an extension seems pretty unattractive to me.
