IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! ALL READ!! - DC Forum Badge Vote

Welcome one and all to one of the most exciting developments in the DC Forum for a while.

As many are aware, I recently ran a very special competition for the design of a new "badge" for regular Contest Holders who have held contests that have been ran well, selected a winner from the DC Forum and paid on time.

I must emphasise, this is not something that will be handed out lightly or just randomly to people. I need to see justification as to why you deserve it AND the reference has to come from 3 or more different designers. There will be more conditions over the next 36 hours, but you get the drift.

Anyhows........down to the important stuff

After much chatter and consideration, we sifted through ALL the designs and then suggested 2 or 3 we prefered each. This list came to a total of 6 designs.

We decided that we wanted to really pick 3 for a vote, however, as it happens their was a joint third. Therefore, we made it a vote out of 4.

All you need to do is vote for the relevant "Badge" Designer in the poll shown above. Now, CHOOSE CAREFULLY - Once your vote is cast, that's it, no going back, and you'll potentially have to look at that badge for the rest of your life in NamePros

Soooo, let the public vote begin.

Due to demand, and one against , I'm going to leave the thread open until 12.00Noon Saturday 7th October. That gives people a friday night to vote aswell.

I like Xpressions. Why? Well, what's the point of these badges? Anyone who has been here for any significant amount of time already knows who's a good contest holder and who isn't. These badges are for people who are new to the forum. Those new to holding a contest or designing for one. Xpression's badge is the only one, in my opinion, that makes any sense to use. Someone new can look at that and clearly and quickly understand its meaning and purpose. Those who have it are an "approved contest holder". There's no confusion there. Now if I were to look at any of the other badges (from a newbie's point of view) and all I see is "contest holder" or "approved ch" I will either 1) not have a clue what that means, or 2) think to myself "a contest holder...wow, no kidding". Those say nothing to the fact that the person with the badge has been selected as someone of high regard. I personally feel like Xpression's design is the only suitable one.

true omnishare, i am only a newbie at this and "CH" was more confusing than having it spelt out clearly as "contest holder" and the "approved" with the tick got me across the line.

will you allow xpressions to modify his entry? id like to see how it looks with the "approved" on top of the "contest holder" :imho: sorry to confuse things....

p.s i also like the colours xpressions uses, they're NOT "Regulation" namepros colours.

I'm afraid I'm going to be a little hardcore on this and say no to any "revised" entries.

There was plenty of time to do this during the comp.

I may, however, consider extending the public vote for another 24 hours.

OK Folks.

Thanks once again to Ron (RJ) for his SPEEDY! actions here.

The Contest Holder "Badge" is NOW ACTIVE.

For a starter, for the first week, this has been added to certain members. Initially, myself, as I ran the comp. and am a FL (Forum Leader!). It will also be offered to other Forum Leaders / Staff of NamePros for obvious reasons!.

The one additional person who gets this accolade is DomainBell. The main reason for this is the High value she adds to comps, the way she holds them and the quality of resonse she gives for ALL feedback.

We will be adding people on a weekly basis. I will be working on the rulles and entry requirements for putting people forward for this accolade.

Any questions, let me know. Meanwhile, please congratualte RJ and NamePros for this quick, effective move to recognise GREAT Contest Holders like DomainBell.
