But I had a memeber ask me about one of my domains, after that he then asked me where I found buyers (I said NP`s), after I sent a Pm back to him he asked why his are not selling as he has many sent me a link and said look. After looking at the names he was offering I noticed he had most of his names as FORUMS, when I was selling Forum names;example ...mine CollectorForum.com compared to lets say his (not really) xboxFroums.com I stated that i think the Forum is a better name and that forums leave the door open for portal type sites, not a direct site like Forum (xboxForum.com), I would not buy CollectorForums.com and didnt when I could have. He Pms me back to say im wrong that I must not know that they are selling at the same price and value. Well I PMed him and said ok fine and sent him the recent carforum.com sale for 15,500 compared to his version of a forums, at $4400 and said they are not close. Does anybody agree that Forum is better then Forums?

"Forum" is better than "Forums", IMHO (but I would secure both if planning on one day developing (either), as well)! :talk:

:imho:

Hope I'm addressing your query.

Ditto; I would never get a 'forum/s' name unless I absolutely loved it; because if it's a real good one, you gotta get both versions (singular/plural) because someone would much rather buy the other version for reg fee than pay you a large price; a simple 's' can make a huge diff in price.
With the 'forum' names, people are also quite happy with a dot.net since there's rarely a trademark issue, so that's yet another point that can weaken the sale of a forum name. I'd have to absolutely love and believe in the name to reg a forum name, and then I'd probably get all 4 (sing/plur, and the dot.nets). That's why I ain't got any... yet.

IMO Forum is better, forums denotes a place that will have several forums on one topic. I agree with Jeff to have both for reg fee makes sense to secure the set.

Jeff yes you are, Bannen, thanks also.
Both is better I would agree but I just went with the ones that were Forum,
Im starting to think im crazy :tri:
Im now arguing with an NP memeber That asked my opinion via PM,,,WTF!
It just kills me to see a PM asking me why? or why not? Then my answer is not what they want to hear, so I get an loooooong drawn out PM saying im 2yrs old or 10yrs old because i dont know anything about this business, then told that he thinks I have been doing this for 2 years because if I was doing this for 9 years I would know the difference.:-/ Wow I cant wait for the Traffic show (where the grown ups will be) Maybe then I can be on the 11th grade level :tu:

Hey Joker Hows it going....I concur...Forum...is better if I am going to buy (speaking as a buyer) I also agree w/Jeff IF I purchased a domain w/Forum in it I would also want the plural....forum(s)....

Now on the "members" 1st question....I've bought several domains here and am a new member....and plan on buying quite a bit more....from members..I'm new so still feeling my way around here....one of my reasons for joining....maybe you have some really gr8 names that sell well...compared to others...

personally I like forum better, but I have known other people having the preferences of forums. I think it is like a lot of girls prefer a blond barbie, while other people swear that the other kind better.

Hi Joker, there's no question about forum or forums. No Apologies for posting, and ur not going crazy LOL, though its interesting how a 9 year old could get you questioning your seasoned views :)

IMO forums has better value in overcrowded high ppc subjects. pokerforums for eg would have pretty good legs on her own. Having said that, it's still a far cry from pokerforum.

Both are good IMO , but forum a little better than forums (people tend to not write the final "s" usually)

Well lets put it to a vote. Everyone who prefers โ€œforumโ€ go out and register โ€œforumโ€ names. Everyone who prefers โ€œforumsโ€ go out and register โ€œforumsโ€ names.

And the results are in:

.coms registered ending in โ€œFORUMโ€: 78,000
.coms registered ending in โ€œFORUMSโ€: 27,000

We have a winner!
