I'm not sending any messages and have not sent any messages to Dark blue sea but keep getting this return message.

<[email protected]>:
Sorry, I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection. (#4.4.1)
I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

Does anyone know what this about?

Someone is using your email address to send mails to this email. Most probably a spammer assisted by bots. Never leave your email addresses in websites / forums openly.

I agree to an extent but how do you know this is what's happening?

You don't have to see an email to know it. for instance you can guess any common name sam, dave harry bill todd ryan chris etc etc and add any common email @yahoo @google @gmail @hotmail alltel ets etc and have all the emails you need. Or open thousands yourself in less popular names.

Its the most likely though.

Spam Filters eventually get to know to block certain emails from certain addresses, regardless of content (AFAIK). Spammers like to use REAL addresses as it is more effective. Therefore, you probably left your email address on a spidered web-page. Try Googling your email address.

If it doesn't come up though, you might be right in that they just guessed it and used it, especially if its bob @ test.tld

If you run a website, you could have an unsecured contact form or similar. I'm pretty sure spammers can sometimes use these to send mail from your account.

Maybe that's what it is, just kind of odd it's to dark blue sea. The attempted emails started about 6am this morn and ended around 2pm.

Odd indeed.

Isn't DarkBlueSea the Australian company that has hundreds of thousands of domains?

If you have a server you better configure a firewall on that bitch ASAP.
I had a hacker use my POP3 on my server once to phish and spam people for PayPal and MySpace and I got in deep shit, and I didn't even know it was happening! :td:

My host contacted me, shut down my server, and said that's enough of that. Luckily they listened to me and put a firewall up on that bad boy and hasn't happened since. :tu:

That's why I said earlier it's wierd, I'm little 350 names. but of all the emails to be going out from my main account is very odd. This account does not and is not related to my domain names but is the email to our businesss name.

I'll tell you more a little later today.
