A good friend of mine died suddenly last Tuesday (April 24). She was exactly my age (We're 12 hours apart).

She was matron of honor at my wedding (28 years ago). At the time, I lived in Florida and barely knew anyone, and no one was exactly lining up to be my matron of honor. Back then, I didn't know her very well, but she and her husband cheerfully agreed to stand up for us, and we've all been friends ever since.

She was just a super sweetie who, in recent years, had some medical difficulties but was actually doing much better.

Then this.

I flew to Florida for her funeral and just returned last night. It was a large funeral--no surprise there. She just loved and accepted everybody.

I'm both jetlagged and sad.

:'(

Some people aren't lucky enough to have good friends for 28 years. Unfortunately, the stronger the bonds the harder it is when you are separated through distance or life.

All you can really do is remember how lucky you were to have someone you cared about in your life and look back at how strange events tie people together forever.

Best Wishes to you and other family and friends.

An old friend of mine passed similarly this year. She had a successful operation, everyone was positive and then wham. It's especially hard for those who spent all of their days with her. It leaves a big hole.
I hope you can stay in touch with her husband for a while,it might help both of you.
Take care

What can I say - we personally don't know each other but that is exactly what happened when you meet this beautiful person who stood up for you and than you were friends for 28 cherishable years. Realize that this life is just a stepping stone into the life that we all will embrace one day. Our love energy never dies - it never dies.

Peace to you and yours and to this wonderful woman that you describe and her family.

And happy domaining :)

I'm very sorry for your loss.

It's very nice to hear she was so appreciated.

Grief takes time, it's the way we are.

Thanks, everyone.

I love this community...

My friend was deeply religious, but she never tried to "convert" anyone; she simply lived her life as a good Christian, and her kindness simply rubbed off on the people around her.

She was/is a role model for the way I try to live my life, personally and in business.

I'm feeling a little better today, but it will take some time.

I'm sorry for your loss, MsD.

We are reaching an age when our friends are starting to pass.
It's hard.

I like to celebrate my family and friends that have passed by baking a Birthday cake on their B-day.

It reminds me how precious life is.

It sounds strange, but it works for me.

Peace,
Cy

I'm so sorry for your loss. This is sad but important. Stories such as this re align my priorities. These events serve to remind us of the loved one we have and how much we don't show our appreciation or love. Humbling to say the least.

Ms D ... I will call my Mom, my sister, my wife and daughter tonight, with you in mind, I'll remind them how much I love them. Thank you for sharing and putting perspective in the right light.

God bless you and yours ..... :xf.love:

I am sooo sorry for your loss. :( I am familiar with the feeling of losing someone close, and life just doesn't seem right anymore. But time does heal the pain. The good memories remain and that is something you can always hang onto and cherish. It's what will keep you going and inspire you to do even more good in this world.

My condolences...
