ILance Auction Software provides the worlds most innovative and revolutionary auction software for small, medium and enterprise markets. We've been in business since 2000, and released our ILance v1 in 2002. Version 2 shortly followed and we're now working on the latest, ILance Enterprise 3.0.0.

Since 2000, Released version 1 in 2002, released version 2 in 2004 and the latest version 3 released in 2006.
What sets ILance apart from the rest?
Our products far exceed our competition, with various addons and modules created that seamlessly hook into the base ILance Framework. Take LanceAlert for example, this is due to be released (.NET technologies) in less than a week from this job request. This application alone provides instant alerts and instant message functionality to an ILance powered auction marketplace. Similar to Yahoo IM, but specifically built for ILance 3.0.0 auction operations. ILance offers a unique API to have different programming language connect to the base marketplace. When lancealert users are logged into the windows app, they appear logged into the marketplace ready for instant chat as well!
What else should I know?
ILance is the only auction software solution today that provides both, Service and Product auction environments in the form of one major auction solution. Customers find great value in service auctions, when considering launching sites like Guru, Scriptlance and Elance, and they also consider ILance for product auction support, like the world's famous Ebay. ILance does it all (all at the same time!)
What do we want?
We have been recieving a massive amount of interest for our product over the past few months and would like to kick start our bug tracker by hiring some help to fix new and existing php only bugs. This will give us a break to focus more on sales, not so much the core framework. That is where you will come in. We are a small team looking to expand. It's pretty simple.
What is ILance written in?
Our software is written in PHP 4+ using MySQL 3/4, and we have an active bug tracker where existing members post bugs they find.
What will I be doing?
The programmer will have the active role of going through the existing bug tracker to make comments with customers based on the bug they are reporting to act quickly and find the best solutions to those problems. The end result would be the programmer reviewing the posted bug, if it's not doing what it should, the programmer may assign the bug to him/herself and to make sure it becomes fixed for the next release update. Product updates / releases occur every other Friday.
Keep in mind every customer has different wants/needs. Some situations, you may accept "money" for customized work for client tasks you wish to take on. This alone will keep the $$ coming in on top of your payments for eliminating bugs in the software. You will do that on your own time, when you fix bugs, you are working on ILance time
How much will ILance pay me?
You will be paid on a per week, per month or per bug fix basis. That choice is up to you. Depending on your timeframe, you may fix 1 bug a day, or 10 bugs a day. The more bugs you fix the more income you will earn. Remember -- some bugs are very tiny, where some will require thought and lots of coffee.
Your role as a bug killer will soon work it's way up to senior development staff which ultimately leads to a moderator position at the ILance Forums OR could lead to a full staff position on the ILance payroll. You may be paid via Paypal.com or any other means that works for you and your location.
What else can I expect from ILance?
You can expect surpurb development references based on your talent to our existing pool of business owners and webmasters all over the world. Every customer is looking for customimzed work, this puts in you first place with hundreds of tasks to pick and choose from. Your primary role will be working with ILance, helping to fix the bugs from your remote office or from the comfort of your own home, (PJ's optional) :D
Can you give me an example of what I would be doing for ILance?
In this request, we are not looking for you to test the system, instead, our members report issues they find and the bug developer would need to confirm that issue and either flag the bug report as "Confirmed" or "False Alarm" as fast as possible. The developer will review the bug, fix it and re-update the status flag on that bug report to (Closed/Fixed).
You are bascially ON CALL. If a bug is submitted, you will decide if you will fix that one or not. This gives you a chance to work as you like, without pressure or anyone nagging you.
Slowly but surely, the developer will learn and understand the code written for ILance, and will eventually have core access to the ILance Live Update Server where the developer can make his bug fixes and send the updated files to the LiveSync Product Update Server. This is where ILance customers can update their software in realtime using a live update software within their administrative control panels. At first, the bug developer will not have this amount of access, and will be handled by the core ILance dev team at the beginning. Show me how customers update their software here.
Similar to the Bug Tracker over at VBulletin.com, the programmer would have this system at their side and would be working with existing customers based on the reports being submitted to the ILance bug tracker.
What do I need before I start working for ILance?
The programmer will need MSN Messenger (or Yahoo IM) to go over any questions/comments with the core ILance development team. The programmer will also receive the ILance software with appropriate usernames and logins to access the source code files.
The programmer will be required to sign an NDA (non-disclosure document) including a non-competition agreement with ILance. The point of this move is to expand into new areas, at the same time, ensure our ideas pratices are well protected under the law.
When can I start?
ILance will provide you with two script examples, 1 being our simplist form of development, the other being our most complicated. It will be up to you to make decision, and ILance to ensure you are on top of your game.
Can you tell me more about the PHP code?
Sure, we all know hybrid php+html side by side development is unprofessional. Instead, ILance has taken the time to create a powerful template system for the framework which provides easy bug tracking elimination and quick pin-point code tracking with full phpdoc commenting to ensure the developer knows what a section of code is doing. The system is OOP (object oriented programming) style and can be quickly modified. This makes it possible to only fix php bugs without editing html templates as many of ILance customers have customized the skins/layouts of their marketplaces. Bugs come from PHP, not HTML.
