It's so crap... I was really worried something like this was going to happen.

The one registrar I'm particularly upset with, is www.800name.com (SchuechterNet, Ltd.) - they seems to be ones of the main one that took a lot of the LLL's.

Funny part is check out their site, nothing works- all broken links, no person could register an EU domain there whatsoever!

I wrote to EurID about the situation, interesting to see what their reply is...

Even worse to this, looks like they'll be doing it yet again with .mobi - check it out:

(Third last "accredited" registrar at the bottom of the list)

Good one Chimaera!

@fixxation

I see you dislike this situation as well and the .mobi issue is just another concern and reason this should be made aware to the masses so that proper restrictions can be put in place for this coming landrush.

Did you digg it? If not then please do!... otherwise why even bring up the .mobi issue right?
Complaining and not speaking out is not really worth your time ;)

So come on digg it ;) It only takes a couple of minutes to register and if you already have an account it only takes a couple of seconds.

Rep added Damion!

Cheers, seems with all the angry/excitment I forgot to digg it... just DUGG it now.

I'll be contacting the .mobi registry about some of the questionable "registrars" in their list. It's unreal that EurID allowed it to happen in the first place, seems they weren't even checking the registrar sites.

As for what's going to happen with all the names registered by the dodgy registrars.... who knows, this whole launch has been such a scam.

I don't think the same thing will happen with .mobi. If you look on their site it says "General Registration commences with a short two week registration period known as Landrush when desirable dotmobi domain names may be registered at a premium price."

God I really hope so, just seeing that 800name.com in their short list of registrars make my skin crawl. Even apart of regging a few LLL's for investment purposes, I'd feel far safer knowing I could pay a premium price to register the one name I need for one of our products-- rather than have some sneaky registrar moving through a word list from aaa to zzz grabbing whatever they can....
