If my latest purchase is also worthless, I will follow the community advice and not buy another domain until I learn something.
Actually, I should do that anyway.

But I did more research this time before buying.
So for one last time...
Good people, even if it's worthless, give me your honest opinion. All dot-com's.

1. Regained Health
Description: Meaningful, hot field (recovery after medical problems). I was shocked it was available. This gotta be worth something, no?
Namebio: 0. RegainHealth sold for 1,777$ (07/2024)
DotDb: 0. RegainHealth has 13 exact matches and 14 partials.
Similar domains asking prices: HealthRegained, less natural phrasing, asks 2195$

2. Recouped Health
Description: Meaningful, hot field; But less common phrasing.
NameBio: 0
DotDb: 0. "RecoupHealth" has 3 exact matches.
Similar domains asking prices: 0

3. Real Estate Conf
Description: Clear, but niche. I probably have to approach these service providers with an offer directly?
NameBio:
- RealEstateCon.com - 800$ (04/2018)
- RealEstateConference.com - 1,641$ (11/2018)
- RealEstateConnection.com - 4,797$ (10/2022)
DotDb: 1 exact match (.ru) + 65 partial matches for "RealEstateConference"
Similar domains asking prices: RealEstateCon asks for 50,000$! (but it's either about scamming or conferences...)

4. Dreamy Real Estate
Description: Meaningful, has positive connotation, hot field. I am a bit puzzled why this looks worthless (see ahead).
NameBio: 0. DreamRealEstate sold for 1,877$ (04/2018)
DotDb: 0. DreamRealEstate has 29 exact and 198 partials
Similar domains asking prices: 0

5. Health Recuperation
Description: This is a real phrase, but not very used. Probably worthless?
NameBio: 0
DotDb: 0
Similar domains asking prices: 0

There are a few more.
Please tell me if I'm in fact not buying another domain in 2024.

The problem with most of these is they have better versions.

1.) Regain Health is a much better term than Regained Health. Then you have versions like "Regain Your Health" as well. In general "ed" terms are not great for branding.

2.) Recoup is used more for things like money than health.

3.) A conference is called a conference or con, aka comicon, namescon, etc. It is not really called a "conf".

4.) Dream Real Estate is a very popular term. "Dreamy" not so much.
I guess it could be a decent brand, but still kind of an odd term.

5.) I don't see much potential in this one.

In general the domains all have the same issue - they are not popular terms, tenses, and there are better versions.

You are close to being on the right track, but you need to understand the difference between your domains and the comps you listed.

every newbie wants to buy domains from start and think they got good stuff and make quick cash. but this never works and u are best to spend a.good avg of 200hours to read here...and on namebio. that's how it goes for all newbies.. and in all fields of life. u have to work and learn and invest time first.... then u invest money ltater. all newbies are clueless about what is valuable and sellable name. which is normal. how can u know with no experience. we all started same way. enjoy.

@bmugford Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the time you took to write this response!
I understand and agree with your comments.

@alcy Thanks for the important tip once again. That's it for me for the near future.
This got addictive to me, a little bit more gambling than investing than I'd like it to be.
If/when I revisit this field I will learn things properly first.

@DmytroK. Thanks.

By the way, I have learned a lot of the common pitfalls that amateurs do, maybe that is worth a post. @bmugford mentioned some of them, and there are many more potholes you can easily fall into when first starting out. Thank you for pointing out that everybody do this nonsense at first.

I will probably list the domains on GoDaddy Auctions and see what happens. I got nothing to lose.

Thanks guys!

Edit:
By the way, I will just note that my biggest pitfall was basing my purchases off of asking prices of similar domains.

HealthRegained asks 2195$ like I said, and it's not as good as myn, and myn is probably worthless.

If basing yourself asking prices was working, I would've been rich by now.

Normal mistakes from newbies
Add two words together which make no sense

Also you need money to invest in the business. Thinking register $10 per name and sell them for $1,000 may happen but the chance is 1/10,000

Yes, and then someone sees your HealthRegained listed at $2195 and thinks that HealthsRegained must also we worth "something" as it's only slightly different, and the cycle continues.

Study sales and business naming trends :xf.wink:
