Hello i am thinking of making a site where you can add your domains that you are selling with a link to where it is being parked or the web site.
I have found a domain name which i think would be suitable (keeping it confidential as there are alot of guests who might read this and register it i can trust the members though so pm me if you want to know it) for this type of site.
I would be looking for a couple of partners hopefully that know how to code and design and have a knowledge of domains.
Also i would like incorporate it with the NP system if RJ aproves like he has with bazaar.
Im not sure if it will be free or if it will be a small fee maybe like $1 or $0.50 and more for a front page listing.
This is only an idea i am just wanting some feedback on it.

Thanks

Sounds interesting, but a little more explaining would be helpful thanks!

its not a bad idea if listing fees are in the range of $0.50-$1

yeah i was thinking that and maybe having a donation thing so if we helped sell your site you can (if wanted to) donate a few dollars or so.

Just a thought CH,
The parking companies (I know sedo for sure) frown on putting links to parked pages on your website. I'm not saying that people don't do it, but if you read the terms/conditions of parking your domains, they say they will suspend/close your account if they find out you are doing this.
Good luck with your idea, though. I hope it works out :]

maybe i can get into contact with sedo and the others and see if they will allow us to advertise peoples domains that they are selling as we arent making people click on them.

I think you will be fine if you just list the domains for sale (without links to the parked pages). If you want to put links to those sites, I would contact the parking program first. Here's sedo's parking rules in case anyone's interested:
(Note that it doesn't specifically say that you can't have a page with links to parked pages, but because of some of the other language, I would still contact them if you plan on doing that. Better to be safe than sorry!)

Special Parking Rules
COMMITTING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PROHIBITED ACTIONS CONSTITUTES GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE TERMINATION FROM THE PARKING PROGRAM AND FORFEITURE OF ANY ACCUMULATED EARNINGS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. PLEASE READ AND OBEY THESE RULES!

Participant may not click on advertising links displayed on Participant's own domain names, nor ask friends, family, or others to do so.

Participant may not beg, ask, entice, or incentivize visitors into clicking on advertising links.

Participant may not re-direct traffic to Participant's parked domain name. This prohibition extends to traffic redirected from other domain names, and purchased traffic such as pop-under or exit traffic. Each domain name must be parked separately.

Participant may not display Participant's parked page as a pop-under or pop-up window without prior written approval from Sedo.

Participant may not categorize domain names in unrelated categories or specify an incorrect language parameter. Participant may not submit advertising keywords that are unrelated to the subject area of the domain name.

Participant may not generate traffic to Participant's domain name(s) or clicks on advertising links by any of the following methods: listings on newsgroups or discussion boards (with the exception of "domain for sale" postings), bulk emailing, ICQ postings, or chat room/IRC postings, iframes, zero pixel frames, hitbots, clickbots, spiders, CGI scripts, java-scripts, or any other similar method.

Participant may not modify the Parking Program page or code in any way without prior approval. Only clicks originating from an unmodified, Parking Program-served parking page will be considered valid. Participant may not place the Parking Program page within a frame without prior written approval from Sedo.

Participant may not mislead visitors into believing that he/she will receive anything other than an internet search by clicking on a text link or search box.

Referring pages must not be password protected in any way.

Sedo reserves the right to terminate your Parking Program account if it is idle for more than one month.

Inability to comply with any of the terms of the User Agreement or the Parking Program Rules will forfeit any unpaid earnings and result in the termination of Participant's Parking Program account. Further legal action may be taken in response to such violations as well.

So it kinda sounds like if as long as you only list the domain in plain text and not as a hyperlink, you should be OK. But I could be wrong.

well i would be using hyperlinks but i wont be telling people to click on the links if they find a domain they like they can click on it and it will take it to where it is parked or where the site is.

Interesting idea, although, as mentioned earlier links to parking sites could be a problem.
Cant really see a way around this except to allow the lister of the domain the option to have a link or plain text 'ad'. Throws the onus back onto the person putting up the listing as to whether or not they're prepared to risk their parking account.

Good idea. Leave it to the lister to determine the type of link. This would require you to state in your TOS that you are not responsible for and cannot be held accountable for violating any other domain mktplace's TOS, only the lister is responsible.

Leave it up to them. Your business is to provid the medium, not to police each individual lister.

Let's look at it this way, although ebay is much larger than any business you or I own, sedo is not going to look to shut ebay or any other auction site down just becasue a certain selle chooses to violate sedo's TOS.

But the question remains, will the whole project be worth the while? Meaning, is the market open to a new domain marketplace or is the market too saturated??

Yes i agree i will be sending sedo a e-mail soon asking them if what i am doing is violating there policy (i dont think it is as you can list sedo parked domains at afternice and other sites).

i am also looking for 1-2 people that want to help out with the site if your interested please pm me with what you can help out with.

Thanks

or i might make it so when clicked on it goes to there e-mail so they can make a offer directly to you so you dont have to pay a minimum or 10% commision on every sale
