Idea for a new section here at NPs: "Renew it or not"

In addition to the appraisal section, how about a "renew it or not" section, where each post would automatically be connected with a poll. You could give opinions on 10 or 20 or 30 really quick. It would really be a nice tool when we have to make the renewal decision...

Nice idea, I like it!

I dropped some names recently and was wondering if I did the right thing, some help with getting others opinions would for sure make these decisions easier.

I think this type of thread post would work well in Appraisals section.... Im not sure its a big enough type of discussion, for it to warrant its own thread.

I've seen a number of people post that here in the Discussions section. Wouldn't this be more of a discussion as they're not really asking for an appraisal IMO.

I like the idea :)

It takes alot more time, effort, and skill to make a good appraisal versus just telling someone if they should renew their name or not... These types of threads would probably get replies much faster than appraisal threads too.

Don't renew it....... he he

I can see everyone telling you "yeah, let it drop", or "not worth renewing". Then they will check everyday to see if it is available to register!!! Ha! :yell:

That's what I was thinking...in fact, I think sometimes the current value could be very low, but there may be some potential or other factor that would make it worth renewing.

I wouldn't put it past some

It depends on what your original intentions were when you Reg'd or bought the name in the first place ... If you got it to make income from Parking or to just flip it for a profit , or to Develop - After a year you should pretty well know the deal IMO. If it isn't paying for itself or you've had no bites on selling it - There is a decent chance not much will change in just another year.

If you wanted the domain for a longer term idea or just to hold - You need to try and stick to your agenda. Rome wasn't built in a day (Or a year for that matter).

I think the Appraisal section (As is) would probably best fit for what you're suggesting .... If something like this was to be added , It would still best fit in that area IMO.

If Namepros needs a subsection, it's one about "acronym domains", for LLL/LLLL.com .net and so on.

just my 2c

:hi:

Those wishing appraisals need to provide more information as to WHY they registered the domain name(s) in the first place, their specific objectives / exit strategies for the domain(s), a list of potential End users that may be interested, acronym potentials, as well as other pertinent criteria such as traffic (if any), revenue (if any), other monetizations (if any), an history of the domain name(s), when registered, amounts of previous offers (if any) including from where they were received and why they did not sell for those amounts ... and, lastly, requests as to valuations at the End user level (versus the default Wholesale "Quick Sale" level), and whether - if expiring in the near future - possibly posting a poll as to whether they should renew or not (based on information from above) ... in our humble opinions, IMHO. :gl:

Bottom line: Those seeking appraisals need to help those giving appraisals, if they want their domain names to be appraised #1, and then with specifics to the appraisals and input from us with that provided, critical information #2. :snaphappy: :imho:

I like the potential for "Renew it or Not" polls within the Appraisals Forumโ„ข area, and corresponding threads (versus the general Domain Discussions Forum or any other areas on the site)!
Just my two sense.
