Icons or No Icons... that is the question

Should I use icons in my menu or not?

At this point, I've seen my layout so many times that it all looks the same to me. I'm just not sure whether the icons actually make it look good, since if it only helps a little I'd rather not sacrifice loading speed for those images (which I did optimize to 500bytes each).

I personally think the icons give it a sharper look. Go with the icons.

Possibly the icons, but on the sub menu, don't have the links indented so much.

Personally the Icons are visually pleasing
I like them. Makes it easy to identify what it is... :imho:

Thanks everyone for the input! It seems that everyone I've asked liked the icons, so I guess they are there to stay.
