Looks like ICANN wants to make some big bucks. They are taking applications for generic domains like .sports, .time, .news and so forth.
They cost $185,000 plus a $10,000 renewal fee.
Among other oddities, it seems unfair that ICANN ges to corner the market from the beginning.
