ICANN Generic TLDs coming soon

This might be old news, but it sure seems important.

Looks like ICANN wants to make some big bucks. They are taking applications for generic domains like .sports, .time, .news and so forth.

They cost $185,000 plus a $10,000 renewal fee.

Among other oddities, it seems unfair that ICANN ges to corner the market from the beginning.
