ICANN accepting comments on new gTLD's

ICANN recently annnounced they are taking public comment and policy papers/presentations on adding new gTLD's until the end of January. Looks like new gTLD's are back on the table for discussion again.

eventually now the question would be if new TLD are necessary, or standing at many opinion expressed here at NP to have too many TLDs just will add confusion.

Necessary....NO.

I think we could go another 5-10 years before there is some real need and what's out there gets some development. Info and biz are just now starting to take off an get some acceptance. However, maybe ICANN fears more ccTLD's may take off as open TLD's and the income will go to the sponsor countries rather than ICANN and it's registry operators.
