I have been told by a few people who have known I have been a blogger for years tell me that I should use wordpress. But I can not find how to put wordpress on my blogspot.

Would this be because I need my own domain and hosting to put wordpress on my blogspot but only on my own domain ?

I am trying to find it on some Google searching but no luck.

Quick Google search:

'Blogspot to Wordpress'

Basically Wordpress is a CMS (Content Management System) where you can blog, create site, etc. I definitely prefer it to Blogspot since you have way more control over everything + since you own the domain (disclaimer: you can own a hosted wordpress blog, just like blogspot, but not worth it IMO) you 'own' the traffic and the brand completely and can do with it as you wish, whereas a blogspot.blog.com domain isn't exactly yours but just provides you a medium to share your posts/information with people.

Definitely Wordpress, IMO. You don't install Wordpress on Blogspot, they are two different platforms. You must export your Blogspot information onto a hosted domain installed with Wordpress and then import it into the Wordpress database. Very worthwhile.

AH!

Thank you this is what is understandable to me.

See I was told that wordpress goes into blogspot like it plugs into the code so your domain would be a wordpress blogspot ran site.

But now I see that I would switch from blogspot to my own domain hosting wordpress and import all my posts that way.

WOW I feel really dumb. I know some things but I guess I have a lot to learn.

Thank you for your help !

Check out wordpress.com and they will host the blog for you (much like blogspot do) at a xxx.wordpress.com address.

If you wanted to host it yourself then head to wordpress.org to download a copy.
