Any recommendations on grabbing this domain name? It's going to expire in a few days and there was never a site on it, just a page that said "site under construction"

Should I just try my luck and hope the owner doesn't renew it fast enough and just register for it normally on godaddy?

Or is there another recommendation? Thanks

expiring takes a full 60 days.. after the expired day... you will need to place a bid on it on tdnam or snap

backorder never work for me...

Its going to depend a lot on where the domain is current registered, but more important, when a domain expires, you still need to wait the 45 days it takes to go from expired to dropping.

If the name is at GoDaddy, expect it to be at TDNAM.com soon for auction. If its at other registrars, you may need to backorder at Pool,Snap, or Enom...

first thing to do is check the domain's registrar, then check the registrar's terms of service and see how they handle expired domains. some registrars pre-release their expiring domains (like godaddy, netsol, register.com). if the domain is pre-release, you can only buy through an open auction. if the domain is not pre-release, and it will be following the full deletion cycle, you can snap it up through a backorder (enom or pool).

if the domain has any value, then it's best not to test your luck. it'll probably be gone before you can reg it on godaddy.
