I have some really good .com names.

One of the methods that I follow to increase their value is that I register some 5 other TLDs, whatever available and let them drop. Usually they don't go back to being free.

People catch those names and they keep it. Some have even profited by reselling them at a premium.

I believe this increases the value of my .com names!

What do you think?

That sounds like a scam to me.

Really? How is that a scam? I am not forcing anyone to register other TLDs. In fact one person who registered a .net that I dropped sold it off for a premium. And I still hold that .com.

there is just one downside of this. some buyers want to have all the main extensions and you can not give it to them

No problem as .net, .org, .in are cheap to register. Your strategy do increase the .com's value. However, have you thought about what @DomainZombie said?
