I need an honest opinion on what to do with one of my sites:
FreeMusicVideos.net

I bought this site from another member here and, at the time, it was a non-functioning site. I had it fixed and now about 90% of the videos are working-it is relatively easy to get the non-working videos updated now since the backend has been upgraded.

I believe the domain name itself is quite valuable. The site is #1 on Google for the phrase 'freemusicvideos'--you might ask how many people search for 'freemusicvideos' without spaces in the query? About 150/day, believe it or not. It also gets a small number of traffic from 'free music videos' query

About 10/day actually search for the phrase 'freemusicvideos.net' WITH extension.

Traffic is just under 200 uniques a day as a result of all this, plus some existing links.

The new (updated) pages have not been indexed in Google yet, although a very small subset of them now appear in MSN-I am not sure how long this will take until all pages are indexed. At that time, traffic should explode, BUT this may require somebody who is more active at getting inbound links from other authority sites.

So, I can't decide if I should put it up for sale, if so how much to ask, or continue attempting to increase link pop and shoot for the 'mega payoff'. One final note: Before the site went 'non-functioning' it was getting about 3,000 uniques per day.

What are your opinions?

I think the "mega payoff" is like winning the lottery, so good luck but it does happen.

I'd get the domain appraised keeping in mind that your mileage may vary with the fuel experience of the appraiser. That should be a somewhat real and stable value, but the reality really depends on the marketplace and the buyer.

Then there is the issue of the site, if you are selling that as well. The real determining point of setting a price should be based mostly on "real" values, such as how much revenue the site is making. Site design, SEO, incoming links, traffic numbers, and "potential" should be considered, but they are not exactly "real" numbers that have confirmed value. The site income should be the baseline for buyer and seller. Everything else is up for specularion and negotionation. Sounds like you should put it up for auction...?

Say, nice site at first glance. Send me a PM if you have trouble selling it.

if it's an already developed site and you don't know what to do with it, hold onto it for now and monetize it. as long as you're at least breaking even with site expenses you shouldn't have anything to worry about ;)
