Hey guys,

I just bought DOLE.info
Dole is a meaningful english generic single word, besides being an acronym and a very famous surname (Bob Dole, for example)...
Besides all this...almost all (including 95% of cctlds) extensions are taken and NONE is for sale...
...An interesting fact is that almost all dole.* are developed....lots of them by the same two different companies...

I need your help, Namepros....what is the value for this one!?

Thanks already for the feedback!

Yes there are unfortunately trademark issues with this domain.

i.e. Dole is a registered trademark. They can legally give you a Cease & Desist letter which will ask you to give them the domain as they are the rightful owner.

DO NOT email them and tell them you want to sell it to them. They will only see this as cybersquatting. DO NOT park this domain with ads that infringe on their trademark.

I would suggest contacting them and telling them you would like to GIVE it to them.

My 2 cents.

Thanks for the feedback....

Hmmm....how weird....I had never heard about this company until today...
And I never had TM problems....

I'm not a native english speaker nor american, and I only found out about this word because of an idea i had for a website....that has nothing to do with fruits..
and look....this are the meanings of dole....it IS a generic word:

dole1 [dohl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, doled, dol·ing.

–noun 1. a portion or allotment of money, food, etc., esp. as given at regular intervals by a charity or for maintenance.
2. a dealing out or distributing, esp. in charity.
3. a form of payment to the unemployed instituted by the British government in 1918.
4. any similar payment by a government to an unemployed person.
5. Archaic. one's fate or destiny.

–verb (used with object) 6. to distribute in charity.
7. to give out sparingly or in small quantities (usually fol. by out): The last of the water was doled out to the thirsty crew.

—Idiom8. on the dole, receiving payment from the government, as relief: They couldn't afford any luxuries while living on the dole.

Source...:dictionary.com

As you can see...more generic impossible...

Besides...if it's TM...why are there more companies besides this you mentioned....?...ex:dole.org

No TM issues if you don;t use it to sell fruit or whatever Dole sells. Dictionary words can only hold TMs regarding the very specific product the company sells. Had you gotten to the domain name apple.com first, and used it to promote apple orchards, you'd have been fine - or rich when they had to buy it.

Same with people's names. Otherwise McDonalds could sue everyone named McDonald that opens a business.

Thanks a lot for the feedback guys...

Jacal, that's what I thought too....
Thanks for making it clear to me...
I definitely don't have any intention of promoting any business related to fruits...hehehe

Regards!

Dole is a very very common Australian word for our welfare payments as well as England.

Our population is around 20 Million, and 99% would know instantly what you mean if you said "you are on the dole" or "receiving the dole"

Very good to market for employment methods, resumes or ways of gaining employment and getting "off the dole" and in to the workforce.
