Hello Everyone,

I'm new in the domain business. Just a week ago I entered the business but before entering the business I got my first sell. After that sell I actually motivated to domain buying and selling. Actually I bought a domain last year for my blog and I didn't use it so I just put it on Namecheap Marketplace and BOOM, got my first buyer. That was my first experience and it was absolutely awesome. So now I have 2 questions on my mind:

1) Which TLDs should I buy as a newbie except .COM and .NET?
2) I'm seeing on this forum many of Domainer selling their good and short domain at really low price. If they sell like this then how we beginners make some profit from the domain we bought? Cause at the first our domain will not be so good.

Thanks in advance to everyone and to the NamePros. This forum is really awesome and helpful. :)

Hey @marcury561

Welcome to NP. Hope you njoy ur stay and all the best with ur domaining adventures.

Regarding TLD's - I would suggest digging in and readin the begginer section on the forum...

As far as prices of domains on NP being rather low, keep in mind that this is a reseller market. Great place to find good domains really cheap that you can sell to end users for a decent profit. Often you will have people on NP selling some good domains really check because they need to free up some cash for whatever reason. The trick is learning how to spot the good ones..... :)

1. stick with .com - its the safest bet, especially if you are new

2. if your plan is to find names and sell them on the forum you will get dimes on the dollar - since most members here are resellers. best thing to do is to buy here and find other places to sell.

I noticed your english is a bit broken. If you are looking to buy english words - you may want to run them buy someone who speaks and spells english fluently. I see so many poor attempts of misspelled names that will never sell.

do more research before you buy or hand register any names.

Hello and welcome!

Spend a lot of time reading on this site...lots of good information here but you have to spend the time to find it and apply to your own needs.

Most of my portfolio is composed of .com with about 5 percent in other extensions.

I use the Epik marketplace primarily because there is no charge to use it and it is easy with no fees to pay unless you 'cash' out and then it is only 5%...most of my new name registrations are there as well as it makes selling a breeze.

Don't go crazy buying names like most of us did/do...take your time and start slowly...it can be a waiting game to sell a name and it is really hard to let them go when the renewals come due.

Thats all I have...good luck!
