Today marks almost 20 years in the domain industry for me. I have lied, begged, stole, gambled, gone back on my word, ended up in prison and spent the last 20 years in mental institutions.

I have sold my soul to domaining and used threats to get what I wanted.

I don't like the person I have become because of it. The insatiable need to buy domains out of my reach and be banned on auction platforms. I just sold 2 domains on Godaddy and I still haven't been paid.

At present I have lied to gain social acceptance. I am on a disability pension and have used other people's credit cards without their consent (mainly Family) to buy domains.

Is it all worth it?

I am still bitter and twisted of how I have become, yet I believed in this industry so much that I put my life and others on the line.

I seriously need to think about it is as my mental health is starting to confuse the person I once was.

I was impeccably groomed and meticulously well mannered before I took up domaining. My record was squeaky clean and I had no issues.

Where to next?

That answer awaits with great patience. Whatever I have done to others through my actions, I am truly sorry and ask for forgiveness.

I will not allow my self to be consumed by greed ever again.

These to me doesn't sound like Domaining, neither is your story interesting at all. More like a criminal who's mixing crime and domaining.

Do you think owning FSChilling.com is a good move with Uniregistry or am I using skulduggery as one of my weaknesses?

Wow!
10K sales with just $200 for promoting, that's quite an achievement..Congrats!
Where did you sell most of these ? Sedo, Flippa, Afternic .or somewhere else.?

I am not an expert, but your solution could be to just concentrate on selling and forget about buying new domains for some time. Or till such time that you feel comfortable with cash.
I know its easier said than done.
Also please let mediocore domains drop without any hesitation.
Please concentrate on getting appraisals of many of your domains on namepros or some other experts.

There are so many domains that we fall in love with because of our own peculiar mindset or logic.
They may not have value.

Actually there is this psychological dilemma between "waiting to sell for good price" and
"selling fast for lower than ideal prices" going on in all domain owner's mind.
And its not easy to know which are really worth waiting.
So please try to get feedback wherever and whenever possible on domains that you have held for long periods thinking them as your gems.
Waiting to sell for better prices that too on too many domains can slowly put one down badly.

I wish you all the best!
Think positive..

Appreciate your honesty in discussing your problems so openly..

It must have been hard to write your post, @WINNA and although I don't know you just wanted to say that I admire your commitment to start fresh and not make the mistakes of the past.

There is no doubt that domaining can be highly addictive, leading some of us to make poor life choices. It is a serious problem that we should all keep in mind.

^^^ This

I hope that you will find a positive, balanced and healthy life going forward. We can, none of us, change the past, but we can all make better decisions going forward.

Sincerely,

Bob
Thanks Bob for your kind advice!

So as far as that statement goes I beg to differ, there are a lot of good people in the domaining industry and it's a small percentage that is giving everyone a bad rep, but that is the same for everything,
I agree !00% with @MapleDots on this.

The vast majority of people in domain investing are in my opinion good people who are ethical in their dealings. In everything there are a few but it is unfair to domain investing to paint our industry by the actions of a few. In modern society we see too prone to do this - one lawyer acts improperly let's say all lawyers are bad, one scientist is not honest let's not trust any scientist. Let's accurately look at the big picture.

Thanks for your well written post, MapleDots.

Bob

Bit brutal. If there's anything you'll know about the domain industry, reputation is necessary, along with a good network. Each trader / broker, helping the other, in a sense one big family. Admitting you've done bad things (very raw approach if its true), my advice is don't spill what you've done previously, your actions and character in this business "now" is what counts

Ah, yep. That’ll do it. So, you did bite one of the judges.

That’s the best way to get the boot from Uniregistry as well.

Do you think owning FSChilling.com is a good move with Uniregistry or am I using skulduggery as one of my weaknesses?

I believe you're addicted to "Crime" and using the word "Domaining" as a excuse to justify your behavior.
Try placing yourself in the situation you placed others to see if that helps. Getting away with a crime is in fact addictive until you are the victim.
I am not a criminal. My decisions were mine alone. I did not set upon hurting anyone. And yes I have a highly addictive nature, yet not to crime. I try now to make smart business decisions!

You forgot...
"You full of sh*t"
Sorry if the truth hurts but you are in serious denial.
I had some issues and have been injected for the past 14 years with antipsychotic injections which have caused me serious side effects. I can't think straight sometimes and take other medications to combat the side effects. I am on a forensic order which means the government has full control of me. I seeked help yet everyone thinks I'm crazy when I try to explain what Domain Names are about.

Hello Winna,

If you don't mind, for last 5 years, could you tell :
-How much have been spent on an average for renewal and registration fees per year ?
-How much did your earn on average from sales per year ?
-How much you spent on an average promoting them per year ?

And how many domains in total do you own now ?
30K per year
10K sales
3k Domain Names
$200 promoting them
