w0n.com (w, zero, n)

The auction closed at $161, which suprised me. All those this is on the higher end of a LNL.com - the domain crack/hack alone is pretty good. Almost every other TLD is taken and I was ecstatic to have gotten it at this price.

What do u guys think? Was this the fantastic deal I think or overpaid CCC.com?

I was watching that one... Nice buy I think. The averages I've been following for 3 characters says you bought BELOW market value.

Nice buy :)

That's tremendously underpriced - great grab.

I can guarantee you that you didn't see me or a few others in there... which means our source is missing some of the 3char drops... dammit! (And yes, one of the sources is domaintools which I've been lectured on many times ;) - ie: This is yet another 3 character that either it didn't list, or didn't list correctly).

PM me if you're not looking to hold for the long-haul and I can probably find a few people willing to go $250 today (The same people I'm always bidding against on these).

Hence, I'd say $300+ is closer to the real value.

( L2B.com went for over $1k, b8d.com at around $500 , 6ix.com for $2,400 - the only one less than yours that I see over the past 3 months is 3kf.com at $130 )

Nice snag, and dam domaintools for me not being in that one ;)

wow.... you guys are missing some of these auctions! Alan, im suprised! I see a 3 character.com expiring almost every day on snap. I picked up q3p.com a few days ago.

Im not sure how quickly I want to flip this one. I do think I did quite well on it, so I will probably be sitting on it for a year or so, unless a sweet little offer runs along. Mid/High XXX

And your list is missing some that I've won (True most are priced well above that - I don't know if you just aren't posting the higher $ domains in your list above)... So I'm not sure quite what the issue is, in all honesty, but maybe by combining drop sources we're more likely to see them all?
My old standby was snapcheck, then domaintools, now kind of a combo across the big guys - and still some stellar names slip through that somebody obviously knows about, but don't reach my plate ;)
And yeah, I forgot that I didn't bother with a couple because I just didn't like them - but still...

nice grab

I was bidding on it but missed the 12:15 end :( I was watching 6ix.com, nice CCC but went a bit to high for me. So your domainspade1, we should get a post going for all the regs there. Bonkers has taken a lot from me and I always am bidding against halverez, damn you halverez lol (just kiddin). ANyways, good buy.

Gary -

Yup, thats me! Well, i am glad you missed the end date! (lol) I was actually suprised only one person was bidding against me in the end. It was so close to my cap bid at the end, that I even raised it up as to not extend the time and also give the impression that I well overbid to get the name. I think everyone was a big hungover from Mardi Gras. You'll see me in most of the CCC.com auctions, I usually sit back, just wanting to see prices, but If I like one, I'll go for it. This one I loved.

I think High $xxx would be a good estimate for this domain.

Honestly I would not pay a lot for a typo. I guess you paid the right price.

That is your luck. I think most bidders thought am I need to pass traffic for won.com include me. The domain is worth at least double what you paid.

The item was not purchased as a typo, more so as a CCC.com / Hack - Considering the market price for CCC.com's this one went well, and with the added Crack/Hack for won - I had expected the bidding to shoot up well over my budget 2-3x what I had paid, so I thought this was a great buy.

Thank you for your opinions! Rep added to all who posted

I know the domain market is made up of so many different niches but I really don't understand why someone would pay $2,450 for 6ix.com ????

61x.com
Archive shows it has likely been for sale since at least April 2003
UrlTrends shows Pagerank 0/10
Overall Incoming Links: 1

I can understand why g-l.com and LLL.com are valuable but who would want to use a name like 6ix.com ? :-/ The end user market for that must be miniscule surely ?

Do these kind of names ever end up being sold to end users or do they just circulate between domain resellers ? If so - what sort of price do they go for to end users ?

I'm not knocking it, I just don't understand it

oooops - sorry guys, I thought I was in the discussion section :guilty:

LoL Gazzip! Thats alright..

Well - 6ix.com is a domain hack/crack of sorts... 6 i x..... s i x.... Really I think it shows quite a bit of potential branding. Take for example:

1ne.com
2wo.com
3hree.com
4our.com
5ive.com
6ix.com
7even.com
8ight.com
9ine.com
10en.com

Although I think the domain name was well overpriced but some of the domainers fell victim to the "I dont want to let this one get away" philosophy. I think the domain shouldve fetched high xxx - beyond that, without development, they may not see a ROI for quite some time.

I have only ever seen or heard of one big company using a domain hack ......and even that one did'nt stick in my mind ;)

Domains like 61x seem more like an expensive fad than a brandable domain to be honest, but hey....I've been wrong numerous times before and its not a niche I am familiar with  just trying to figure out what I'm missing.
