I just woke up from a dream I had about Eric Schmidt

Why Eric Schmidt....I don't know?

In the dream Eric and I were sitting in a boat at the dock with other folks around. We were talking and I asked Eric if I could ask him a question and he said sure.

My question was...why doesn't google list parking pages that contain google ads only...as first results...if that parking page has an exact .com domain name address....that matches the clients exact word/words search? We were interrupted as he pondered.

I went on to say after the small talk from others in the group:)...if that searcher clicked on relevant websites as they are listed now as first page results...google may or may not get any revenue from those websites. But...if the viewer clicks on the parking page with many relevant paying customers...and clicks any of the relevant links based on that exact domain name...google would receive revenue every time.

Also...I went on to make an example. My example was ball. I said a search of ball would show up many websites pertaining to ball...ball teams, football, basketball tickets...etc. Most of these websites wouldn't have google ads in them and the google ads listed on the side get low percentage clicks. But...if the domain ball in the dot com was the first site listed on that page for exact results...then all websites listed on that parked page are paying customers. They have already been selected as being very relevant to that exact domain name search. The client/searcher would have many choices from the multi relevant links on the parked site and both google and the domain owner would make a lot more revenue. He was still pondering my question when I woke up...but it makes a lot of common sense for google and their management....to go back to this policy to continue to drive profits & sales.

My WIFE said she dreamed...I got up in the middle of the night to go type some crap on the computer! LOL

I guess the point of my dream was...google's management is throwing away a ton of money for them and us...by not listing parked sites for searches that match exact .com domain names.

Look, originally I didn't want to comment on this but I can assure you with 100% certainty Google knows exactly what they are doing. I can guarantee you, Google has at least 100 reasons why they would not want to do things like that. That's why they are at the top of their game.

Flybuzz is correct. That would reduce traffic quality and reduce the RPC. You didint take into the account that advertisers budget is limited. With lots of more clicks simply say goodbye to XX and XXX USD clicks.

I understand what you're saying....but look at the way some of the google ads are displayed now. On many searches the first 2 or 3 top listings are ads...disguised as best they can to look like free listings. There is a tiny "ad" in the same text...just above the ads and the color is just a little off from the free listings...but on a smart phone you can barely tell the difference.

I don't understand how...by not listing parked sites with exact dot com matches on the first page results...is any different or worse than what google is already doing. The key is to get the customer to find the products, information or services they are looking for...as quickly as possible. A relevant parked site gives the searchers many choices and would give both google & parking sites more revenue to boot.

Plenty of parked pages are indexed, it depends on the traffic quality...

Every page I've checked is indexed...but I've never seen them displayed on google's first page for the exact search without the dot com attached. If I do search the exact words and all words connected and dot com attached too...my parked sites will show up on first page near the top. But...I figure at most 1 out of 1000 searchers will search that way?

Than be happy, if your domains with exact .com search are indexed. More than 50% of them are not. Your statements are in contradiction of G PR. One of the factors of PR is the relevant content. The most important 1. I dont know how the pages full of ads are relevant. They are simply not, they are just the mediator between platforms. I think nobody should have problem with the fact that the parked pages lose the PR.

Google never stands still. I guess I'm just wishing/hoping/dreaming...they would change their stance of not listing parked sites on the first page for exact match dot com domains. Oh well...it Was only a dream.:)

You should not let that the dreams effect your life... In most of the cases they are irrational. :)

love the tag of the thread :)

I believe what the OP says has some sense. Parked sites can quickly and efficiently send the visitor/customer to what their looking for

@Decades80, what you say about 'relevant content' is something that I could never understood. What does relevant content even means? If I can send the customer to the product he needs straight away, what is the problem with G or anyone else?
For example, let's say I sell auto parts. So, I create a site with my product list and I set the best prices in the world. The site contains *only* products and their prices, nothing else, no relevant content, nothing, only products. Is this relevant content or not?

@flybuzz , I'd seriously like to hear 3 of the 100 reasons, you'd do me a great favour. Right now I'm totally baffled on why G persists on some things (relevant content is one of them).
Since I haven't studied anything relevant to business I'd very much like to hear any reason on why G follows these tactics
