Good day all!
Set aside, that Godaddy flooding of my mail-onbox with "Domain-Cancelation!!!"-Notices (3 month(!) prior to them actually expiring) is falling on my nerves I now have finally had it with them.
I know it will be a nightmare, but I want to migrate my entire portfolio of some 400 Domains (most of them not in use) to a new Registrar and possibly even hosting account for those few I am keeping active.
Reason:
Recently I had some 40 domains coming up for renewal.
Some 28 were straight forward 1 year public registration.
A few I wanted to renew for more than 1 year, for a frew I wanted also private registration.
NO WAY TO DO THAT IN ONE GO!
So I had to go thru renewing the bulk of the 28 first, check out(!), make the payment, return for the next step.
BUT:
While I did get the "bulk-pricing" of $ 9.99/domain & year for the 28 - for the others they upped the price by 50%(!) to $ 14.99 per domain & year.
"Reason" given: "You only get that better price for bulk-renewals...", as if it was my fault that I had not been able due to their system to simply select per domain: [_] how many years /and/ [_] with private registration.
This in my opinion is simply a ripoff - if not fraud.
At one point a owned some almost 1,000 (!) domains, all with Godaddy, but since it is such a nightmare to deal with them I had started to let those I dont really care about slip into expiration.
NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER.
All you get to talk to (after either waiting for ever on hold on an international call, or as long for one of their "chat-representatives") is someone who has no power to decide anything. So all you get, at best, is someone to repeat what the system already told you.
I AM LOOKING FOR:
"Millions of happy customers"?? Yeah right, I can't picture ONE happy customer of Godaddy.
Sorry if this sounds like ranting, but I am SO p'd off!
Wasted 4 hours with their "support team".
Wrote them an eMail to the management at [email protected] - which bounced.
Wrote them a regular Letter (yeah, like back in the 17th century) - no response.
I am a good customer.
It does not happen often, that I do need something.
But when I do, I expect to get some level of service!
(And I don't even start to mention that I so far have lost 3 (three!) WP-Blogs hosted with Godaddy, because the DB got corrupted, because their server crashed, because.... NOT ONE WORD OF APPOLOGY for lost content! or the nightmare of having to install all of it again.)
PLEASE: CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT ON THIS ONE?

- A Registrar where I get to talk to real people who can make decisions on the spot and actually make things happen.
- A fair price and no cheap tricks with either "way-too-early-reminders" nor "with checkout procedures"
- An ISP that actually offers an eMail Address (not possible with Godaddy! In these days and age!) where I can write what I need done, get an answer and actually solve my needs in a resonable manner suitable for the third millenium.
- ...plus the assistance needed to transfer all my stuff from these shmocks at Godaddy.
