My good buddy is looking to sell his site/domain and doesn't know where to start?

The domain is epic might I tell you. Its the TripAdvisor of the wedding industry in my opinion.

The domain is: WeddingAdvisor.com

Any help would be appreciated!

The website is nice. The domain is nice.

I would suggest selling the site on Flippa or here on NP in the Websites For Sale area.

Welcome to NamePros friend!

I have read about Flippa and not impressed by the quality of buyers. Can selling it here fetch a good price?

For instance through domains alone research we found past names that sold for:

Similar domain names :

BestAdvisor.com sold for $19k

ImpactAdvisor.com sold for $12k

ExpertAdvisor.com sold for $28K

HealthAdvisor.com sold for $40k

TopFinancialAdvisor.com sold for $12k

LegalAdvisors.com sold for $15k

ProAdvisor.com is for sale at $125k

FreeLanceAdvisor.com is for sale at $99k

We are talking about Weddings here which is a major, major market and keyword.

How many registered users does the website have? The domain is okay and the website is well designed. I'm more interested in the success of this type of business model.

Health advisor is probably the best domain on the list and that is why it got the best price.

Wedding Advisor? - fantastic too, I'm a little bit jealous. :xf.frown:

Flippa gives you instant buyers and resellers
As good as it may seem, I don't think this has as potential as much as TripAdvisor
However, the end value depends on the earnings and other factors
Just my two cents:alien2:

I know that he (My buddy) had a SEO/Marketing partner that had to leave the company due to a family emergency. So not much marketing done other than what was done himself. I want to say he had 200-300 members. Its a monthly or yearly subscription. I know all this because I heard it all when he was building it. Wedding businesses pay to list their business for the exposure and for their clients to leave them reviews.

The wedding market is a huge money maker. I just did a Google search and found this info. Statistics show that 2.3 million couples wed every year in the United States alone. That breaks down to nearly 6,200 weddings a day. These couples have to find their professionals some where right? Statistics also show that 72 billion dollars per year is spent on weddings. Its a recession proof business and model.

My buddy had a great idea but not tech savvy so wanting to off load it. The name and/or site.

Thanks for all the feedback by the way.

True, when it comes to websites everyone is pricing them according to the revenue.

TripAdvisor is a gold mine and makes his name of WeddingAdvisor already recognizable right? He told me he actually had people ask if he and TripAdvisor were affiliated. Its good to know when you are spoke of in the same sentence as them right! Ha

He has the name trademarked as well! Smart move in my opinion.

P.S. He told me I can have a finders fee to help him is why I am so interested.

He also has a live trademark, that adds value

I was adding that. Yeah you are right. He had to get an attorney to do that and also got some other sites shut down trying to use the name. Very smart move.

I would like to recover any investment made in 2 years time. I would say the domain name is worth mid x.xxx as it is. Multiply your current monthly revenue by 24 and that's the price I would offer. But that's just me, maybe someone else will offer more. Take the advice from more experienced people here and list it.

Your friend paid $1,795 for the domain in 2012

I get it but, I personally believe its in the range of what HealthAdvisor.com sold for. This is a major market and keyword like Health. Heck look what ExpertAdvisor sold for.

Low to mid xxxx for right buyer...develop it and it could be worth double or triple that for someone. If it were mine I would ask 4995 (bin) and take offers but if your friend paid 1700 plus lawyer fees etc, he may want to bump asking to 9995...you won't know until you try! Good luck!

If the site is earning revenue and has been getting consistent revenue for at least a year then the best place to sell it would be on Empire Flippers...they know their stuff and will get you the best price possible... check out their current listings and see what prices they get for their sites... Over and above that they have a large database of repeat buyers that they can tap into.

So here are some more I just found by looking on Google.

weddingphotographers.com.au sold for 10,000 USD

weddingphotography.org sold for 10,000 USD

weddingcatering.com sold for 10,000 USD

weddingflowers.co.uk sold for 8,813 USD

wedding.gift sold for 8,500 USD

weddingcandles.com sold for 8,500 USD

In my opinion all of these are subpar. I mean come on.....HomeAdvisor and TripAdvisor both paved the way here
