Where to sell domain names?

Hi,

I have a domain name which I would like to sell. It's not a domain I bought with the purpose of re-selling but to use with my business. Plans have changed and now I feel it would time to sell it to someone who can really use it.

Where, do you think, is the best place to sell a domain name? I have never sold a domain before so any advice about a good, honest place would be greatly apppreciated.

First thing you can do is put a notice up to the domain visitors that the name is for sale.

There are several domain sales sites that you can list the domain for sale on:

If you're looking for a quick sale, the best method is to post it for sale in forums that you frequent, or domain name related forums. You can start by putting it for sale right here on our board.

one can use namepros.com, netfleet.com .au and domainlore.uk for .au and .uk domain extensions. Namepros is the place for the generic gTld's auctions like .com, .net, .org etc

If you are just starting, then the most important skill for you to develop is the ability to find names. It's extremely hard to sell a bad name, but it's easy to sell a good name, but hard to get the top price for it. Don't register any names until you have spent some time scanning the sold lists. This forum is a good place to start reading.
