what if I register a generic compound word .tv (say it's BodyBuilding.TV) which corresponding ********TV.com (BodyBuildingTV.com) and its abbreviated versions **.TV (BB.tv) & **TV.com (BBTV.com) are all registered and forwarded to the same website of a real TV channel named BodyBuilding TV, then they found that I am the owner of Bodybuilding.TV and asked me to give it back or I will be sued by them, what shall I do??

please share your opinion, thanks.....

I would very much doubt it, they may of course try but the if the word is generic as you say it is,then it comes down to the " regged in bad faith" issue,

If you had a legitimate site on it i don't see how they could get you,if the name was parked they may be a chance they could get it off you.

Words like football, darts, snooker, gym, hotel etc can not be trademarked as far as i am aware and if you are genuinally providing a proper website i seriously doubt they could come after you and win (thats not to say they wont try ).

If your regged bodybuildingtv.tv that could prove problematic, however if the generic is available i dont see why anyone would do that.

This are my thoughts someone else may disagree and offer a good argument as to why they disagree, but this is how i see it.
Thanks
