So I run a site which occasionally requires banning and because of that I get lots of hateful e-mail and people re-registering on my forums to harass me.

Today was the first time someone's used a racial slur against me. Honestly, I'm not offended but am just really annoyed by all of this negative attention. What do you do with your troublesome users?

I get em to,Well not exactly hate mail,But people asking me about my site resources and ect,Some do tend to get pretty hateful with me,I just delete the mails without even reading them now,I would think people would have better things to,But i guess not.Just delete them without even opening them.

I run a pretty active forum and I (unfortunately) also need to ban members from time to time, and from the experience I would say that the best thing to do is to just ignore those mails.
Don't reply, that will only add more fuel to the fire.
But Don't delete the mails, keep them for future reference instead, you never know when/if you need them (as evidence) again.. :)

I wouldn't worry about them. If someone feels the need to verbally bash another online then its obviously a sign of there own insucrity (sp?).

then in the reply email, put a bunch of affiliate id's but make the link say "click here if you hate me" lol, it just might work

if it was me in that situation i would say something along these lines

"dear sir,
until you can complain to me in a proper manor without using the offensive words you have used in the previous email you leave me no choice but to ignore any future emails you send to me. "

then usually add on the end about them breaking terms of services, aup, rules etc etc and show them a link to it and quote the specifice rule they broke.

Yeah, good advice guys. Some of these people are really annoying, they try and come back and aren't expecting to be discovered.

Same with me.

There's no way to stop them ;)

We've been able to do so for awhile now but it means having a moderator on at all times.

don't reply. any reply will only feed them. just store in a junk folder.

I think I would just save them until I had accummulated several email from several people and then just create a website and publish them all. Later if people got to search their name, possibly an employer, they would find some really interesting information. :)

just block the email address or try to ignore it... we all get hatemail if we run a forum that is active, there is no way around banning the users

if they keep coming back, why not just ban their IP address, then they will be no more?

stop wasting your time

ban the IP

as well as block the senders ip in your mail CP

some people dont have stable ips... if you ban the ip when they dont have a stable one its pointless, no mater how you ban them they usulay will come back some time, it could be on another computer or they just changed their ip address, you cant stop them :-/

Then you'd never know if they cleaned up their act, since you're already ignoring their emails.
